John Amen is baked from the mold of the Bob Dylan’s of the world. He gives his audience All I’ll Never Need to digest, 13 tracks of emotionally moving music. He has some of the most interesting lyrics I have heard and the music is quite good as well, particularly on the electrified “Daddy” and “Wild Dogs and Ostriches.”

RECENT MP3 ADDITIONS: A) A remix of School Disco (from the Brand Violet single Voodoo). B)A cover of Montana Pete's White Lightning: they give all their records away free, and Bss described this cover as being 'the nuts', so I hope that cle...

Low Moral Character is what this album is all about. Take a look at the titles of the songs…”Serotonin,” “Scum Recital”…. it pretty much tells the story. There is some hard rockin’ music to help the words hit home, and that is what really makes this album digestible.

New Acoustic Alternative single released by Gil Turetsky called "Forevermore" is amazing.

Looner gets “Naked,” musically that is, on their latest 5-Song EP Rules. They strip down their sound to bare bones and then build it piece by piece into a rock solid amalgamation, ultimately a absolute rock ‘n’ roll force, and one not to be taken lightly.

Shakan is Davyd Homan and the album The System is a dark, penetrating, and controversial collection of tracks. Personally, I think the lyrics were more interesting and thought provoking than divisive. This album is about deceit, lies, and everything that the media projects into our news stations on countless television sc...

Billi & Patti sing and strum their way through 14 songs about life, love and the pursuit of happiness on their album titled Love. The title really does say it all for this fiery and charismatic duo. They are from tw...

Another fresh face has emerged from the musically fertile landscape of Alberta, Canada, and its name is Freddy. Or rather, his name is Freddy, a.k.a. Frederic Litwiniuk.

Teedo has a Luvatomic just for you, rather, those that aggressively seek the ultimate in alternative-rock, with stress on the word alternative. This band totally fits the mold.

One of the hardest things I have ever found to do was find the right people to play in my group. People I came across only wanted to play cover tunes, but that was not for me. I was out now to prove a point, and i did thanks to 3 really great players

Ojee is Eric Green and Brian Campbell. As indicated by the cover of their CD Ojee Walk Upright, these gents certainly do walk in an upright fashion. At first, I thought their music was silly but upon a second take and absorbing their lyrics, I felt a little different.

I was duly impressed with the self-titled debut of Blow Up Hollywood in 2002 and now two years later they have returned with another outstanding album. The exceptional musicians involved with this project intend to remain anonymous, thereby dispelling the image of the egotistical rock star right out of the gate. Besides, these m...

Matt Boroff sounds like he believes in his music; he uncorks the emotional bottle that lives inside him in every song he sings. Ranging from soft and sneak-up-on-you subtlety like on the opener “Soft Sky” to in your face hard rockn’ twists and turns with the provocative “Onio...

This band sings about sex-“Veronica” and “Girls”…drugs- “Vicodin” and “Junkie,” then the rock ‘n’ roll fits in with everything else in between, including a recollection of one band member’s first experience with oral sex backstage. It’s all natural and flowing like a new day of sunshine…or drugs and sex…whatever floats your boat...

To describe the music from Fallen From Grace's self-titled debut release is like drawing the wind; words aren't the best medium here. They aren't alternative, but contain that unrestrained, unresolved spirit that speaks eloquently of convertible cars and open-air concerts. They aren't acoustic, but pass on that sensibility with ...

(Oct 31, 2003 - Scappoose, OR) - jimmy can't dance (J.C.D.), the Pacific Northwest's latest addition to the independent hard rock scene, recently released its first CD "Shaving the porcupine." The CD reveals the band's hardcore musical influences like MSG, The Cult and half a dozen Southern Rock bands. J.C.D. has been writing ro...

In a world where a song can be downloaded in seconds, people who are used to this technology want the media, now, fast and today. If your an established artist and you don't come to the "internet gold mine" you will lose much needed revenue to prolong your life as a musician, and more importantly your place as an artist.
