ANAHEIM, CA--- Orange County Ska Rockers SUBURBAN LEGENDS are slated to perform four sets every evening December 12th-31st this holiday season on the Downtown Disney outdoor stage. At every performance, the band will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation.
Currently celebrating it 56th year, Toys for Tots continues to maintain its classic goal “to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.”
To do their part, Suburban Legends will have collection boxes positioned next to their stage at every holiday performance. In exchange for any new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more, the band will offer a Suburban Legends Holiday bag filled with limited edition band pins and stickers. All donations will immediately be turned over to the Toys for Tots foundation for distribution to needy children.
Suburban Legends are no strangers to the outdoor stage at Downtown Disney; they performed similar nightly stints for months during the summer and holiday seasons of the last two years, as well as the nationally televised Disney World Series pep rally in October 2002.
The Toys for Tots foundation and the Disney Corporation are even older friends: Walt Disney designed the first and still current Toys for Tots logo in 1948, as well as the foundation’s first national promotion poster. The two groups have maintained a continued alliance ever since.
Suburban Legends recently completed their first headlining national tour and released their first full length LP, “Rump Shaker,” earlier this year.
