Thank god your just kidding. But it wouldn't surprise me if the RIAA tries to come up with some BULLSHIT like this sooner or later. We must spread the word that it is BULLSHIT if the RIAA tried to do something like that!!!!

1) an mp3 isn't a "counterfeit good"
2) No profit is made, no money is payed by simply downloading, there are no funds
3) A downloader isn't a pirate.

"1) an mp3 isn't a "counterfeit good""
Thanks for the info. Maybe you didn't read the intro that said:
"Saddam was financing his activities by selling pirated music on Mp3 CD-R's"

Maybe you're not reading what you wrote, you said he's selling CD-Rs. CD-Rs aren't mp3s.

How about this...
Ten Ways Saddam's regime was like the RIAA....
1) Both groups are really control freaks
2) Both groups hire toadies to do the dirty work
3) Both love to use the BIG LIE technique
4) Both like to pick on the poor and defenseless
5) Both groups have enjoyed years of unjust enrichment
6) Both have gotten rich on the backs of those they control through fear and intimidation
7) Both like to keep large sums of money on hand
Both ultimately end up friendless and in a dark hole
9) Both are not going to have as joyous a Christmas as they want...
and the tenth way the Saddam regime is like the RIAA....
10) They're both A-holes !

This from MSNBC:
The military must still capture Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri, Saddam's redheaded No. 2 (he is said to resemble Krusty the Clown), who probably directs a significant portion of the Iraqi resistance.
Poor Krusty...

Code, great list.
Leflaw almost had me there. But I know that the RIAA and Saddam couldn't be possibly connected.
Wait a second...what am I saying?!

Re: Rachel Ehrenfeld
I've not read the book either, but the tenuous links suggested by her in that interview don't sound too convincing to me. I think it's pretty well known that Mr Bin Laden, and the same can probably be said of most terrorist leaders, has his own monetary resources.
The Bin Laden family has gotten very rich from the oil industry. Can we therefore assume that the oil industry funds terrorism, and if so can we not associate the Bush family name with terrorist activity and supporting terrorism (as if we didn't know that already)?
and leflaw, nice joke, almost fooled me too

No, the RIAA wanted Saddam out so they can lobby for stronger IRaw copyright laws, no doupt justifying it by claiming copyrights equivilent to US law will revitalise their collapsed economy.
