Gnucleus 2.0.0.4 with G2!

Changelog:

- Gnutella2 support
- Partial filesharing
- Tigertree hashing (along with MD4 and MD5 and the standard SHA1)
- connection compression
- Non abusive use of Gwebcache V1 & V2

This release has been expected for quite some time. The release is one of the most important competitors to the Shareaza system.

I wonder if they signed up with the RIAA and agreed to implement hashing that will undeniably link the filesharers to their "pirating" for a cut of the law suit money.....

I downloaded it last night to see what it was like. it has a setting to turn of the hashing. Have read it fully but it enables the user to provide hashes on files they are sharing. possibly for files the user created and wants to protect but I can see how it could be used to the RIAA's advantage. I'll read up on it further

how good is this? is this better then kazaa lite and or mIRC?

The SHA1 hashing has always been supported, it just makes it more versatile in this release. the hashing is to ensure that you get more acurate sources on the files that you try to download. it would be useless for tracking your own files and probably would only make things worse for the RIAA because differenly ripped files would have different hashes making it hard to index possibly thousands of hashes for a single song. TigerTree hashing is also required for G2.
