Random Notes from GeorgeZ...

Random Notes...

1) Britney Spears just told the BBC how she believed herself to be a role model. Saw photos from whatever it was she was on last night or the night before. I don't know what she IS a role model for, but certainly not for my 7-year-old daughter...

Just one more reason to boycott.

2) It's quiet... too quiet
Haven't heard much from the RIAA lately. Haven't seen it's web site for a while, either. Mysteriously however, on the rare occasions when the RIAA site is actually accessible, their most entertaining material seems to have been removed.

But you've really gotta admire the hackers for their perseverance. They have successfully kept the RIAA site off the Internet almost all year.

3) Where does the news go when it dies?
While going through the archives, I've noticed that a LOT of material that was previously linked to has disappeared. For instance, mp3.com used to be a oft-quoted news source. Even before they announced their imminent demise, the pre-Vivendi news had long since disappeared.

There are a lot of other web sites that evidently purge stories after a while. Even some of the major news sources.

4) Quick survey...

Is the new Beatles album on Kazaa yet? If so, how is the track quality?

If not, why is that?

Brittney Smears is such an airhead. I watch her interview on 20/20 and let just say that Ms.Smears without her smile and shaking what God did not intend to bless her with would of not gotten far in life using her brain. I personally think that someone (manager, mother, anybody) should of least taken the time out to tell her to THINK before she opened her mouth, and the nerve of Justin making jokes on airhead 1# Jessica Simpleton. Who knows Brittney might get a an Oscar for that dramatic performance...ewwww she was looking ewwwwwww..........

Speaking of this Mr. Ziemann, Britney Tears suddenly went back on her position about this. She got defensive during the Primetime interview mentioned and said:

"These parents, they think I'm a role model for their kids ... But it's the parents' job to make sure their kids don't turn out that shallow...It's the parents who should be teaching their kids how to behave. That's not my responsibility. I'm not responsible for your kid."

This was in response to Kendel Ehrlich, the wife of Maryland's govoner, who said Britney wasn't a great role-model for young girls.

Britney shot back by saying Ehrlich "probably needs to get laid."

Mrs. Ehrlich is 5 months pregnant.

As far as boycotting her, forget her silicon body parts. Sensible people wouldn't invest money in something that dumb to begin with.

Anyways, full story here.

She was on Jay Leno last night, which I always watch on Mondays for headlines. Anyhow, during the interview Jay asked her "What would you do if you weren't in the music industry?" She had a completely dumbfounded expression... and eventually responded with "I don't know, maybe a music teacher for schools"

Has her labels doublethink gotten to her head? Does she actually believe shes an musician? She doesn't write her songs, she doesn't compose her music, her voice is synthesized... So she basically gets the lyrics, sings those and the label takes it all from there.

She performed at the end of Jay Leno. I turned it off because I didn't want to watch it but my friend mentioned that her mouth started moving before her voice. So I turned it on and lo and behold her voice was not synchronized with her mouth, at least from what I could tell. Not to mention she had three back up singers.

You know on a sidenote, Britney Spears initials are BS.

Yes!

As well as the Backstreet Boys. BSB. BullSh*t Boys indeed. Nodding

Speaking of synthesized groups and short term careers, the BS Boys seem to have finally reached the industry's standard 5 year shelf-life.

I was going to say that's what happens with these "market-over-talent" artists, but then I remembered that even the established credible artists from the past have been screwed in one way or the other by the industry. It's just worse now with the explosion of marketing the same predictable "pop" formula.
