by George Ziemann

Mp3.com's demise leaves DMusic.com as the lone true survivor of Indie music on the Net, with a history longer than any other music site on the net, I believe. Please prove me wrong if I'm mistaken.

Anyone who still has an mp3 account (I've ignored mine since January, 2003 but it's still active for the sake of another artist) needs to get on the mp3.com forums and/or send e-mails directly to the other independent artists via their e-mail link on the artist page. Tell them about DMusic.

They only have two weeks to select a new home and it's a beautiful day in our neighborhood.

I agree completely, and urge everyone involved to follow George's advice on this!

Time is of the essence.

Spread the word to all Indies!

I would like to point folks to www.electronicscene.com as an alternate place to promote your 'electronic' music. Dmusic is still the best out there at present for a wide spectrum of music.

Do you have the ability to sell and package your CDs through here? Or just host the mp3s?

okay, last i heard.. there is a future plan for dmusic to manufacture and sell your cd's if you choose, but right now, the arrangement is more like the situation at cdbaby -- you make them, you mail them to dmusic, they sell them and send you a check.

try checking in the "interact" forum for more info on that, i'm pretty sure it's been discussed not too long ago. Nodding

Now this is maybe just what I was thinking a day or 2, indeed matey it is a good day this just might get bigger and better yet we will grow everyday and everyday the RIAA looks over their shoulder soon it'll be like deer looking at headlights P-) heh

I 'm all for mp3.com artists coming over here to DMUSIC but let's not rush the door all at once!! Just like in a fire be cool headed single file take your time if you have a MAD rush it could cause problems in the servers??? ONE REAL GOOD THING about them coming over to DMUSIC they will now LEARN about BOYCOTT RIAA and begin to see how the MAJOR label UNI. used them and how their MONEY (the indie artists at mp3) was used to promote UNI. major artists!! One last idea download the crap out of the site and cost them a load of bandwidth before the go out of BIZ...
