Billboard Magazine is a "mouthpiece".. (or another bodypart ) of the RIAA LABELS. It is TOTAL PROPAGANDA. DON'T BELIEVE 'EM. Also, write your congressperson NOW!! Find the address of your rep. It's easy, it takes little time, and if we ALL do it, it will be heard.. express your outrage in an effective way.
BOYCOTT. EDUCATE. REGISTER. VOTE.
ARE YOU REGISTERED AND READY?

HE’S MAKING A LIST… He’d checking it twice…
OK so we all know the RIAA isn’t going to get a lot of gifts this Xmas. (Have they been BAD or what?)
BUT let’s NOT make it a good Xmas for their ‘masters’ the ‘brains behind it all’ (lol).
HAVE YOU registered to Vote? Have you encouraged your family and friends to REGISTER TO VOTE?
Are YOU old enough to Vote?
Well, IF YOU’RE NOT old enough to vote: HAVE YOU told all your family and friends, your relatives (you know that distant aunt who always sends you the gift certificate good for CDs?) I DON’T WANT ANY (riaa) CDs THIS XMAS because THEY SUE KIDS?
As any smart kid knows (and the ‘kids’ on Boycott-RIAA are no doubt the smartest) IT’S NEVER TOO SOON to lay the groundwork for A GOOD HAUL OF XMAS PRESENTS.
This year let’s make sure the Big Five record companies (self-declared owners of all the music that matters), LET’S MAKE SURE they get a lump of coal – just like the RIAA!

Those "Seig-Heil" style "quotes" from the mother after being cleaned out, remind me of in some way (in essence, not in specifics) of the "statements" Danny Pearl made while in captivity in Pakistan, during the last moments of his life. What gets out of one's mouth when having a gun placed to one's head, you can imagine . . .

Orrin G. Hatch has a lot of trouble keeping his mouth shut on many issues. Don't ever forget that it was Hatch that had to open his pie-hole about how U.S. surveillance was tracking Ossama Bin Laden by his cell phone usage. Bin Laden's cell phone usage stopped immedialy afterwards. This was prior to 9/11/01. Think about it.

For the record, I live in Utah, and I will be fighting Hatch's re-election. Used to be he was just another politician, with the occasional flash of evil, but nothing worse than any of the others. When he decided it was okay to fry my computer, that crossed a line. There's a lot of high-tech industry in the state. It shouldn't be hard to rally them against him after the kind of statements he's been making lately.

Been registered to vote since the moment I hit 18. I vote in every election and plan on doing the same next November. My Representative is running for Senate and my Senator is running for President so depending on how they feel about file-sharing and the RIAA's threats will depend on who I vote for.
I should even write my other Senator, Elizabeth Dole and tell her my vote in 2008 depends on how she feels to.

I just received a response from the webmaster of a well known band. His response was to my concerns of their association with the RIAA and the financial molestation of a 12 year-old in New York. He admits to being under the control of the RIAA. Here it is:...
'Thanks for your email. We have no idea what you're referring to. ALL Bands with recording contracts are associated with the RIAA and we are not aware of the molestation of a 12 year old girl in NY. Sorry if you're judging the band associated with a company who controls the recording industry.'
Hmmmm, sounds like a little denial going on here too....

A 12 year old girl was sued.
Orrin Hatch - "This is great. . ."
What a fantastic music site by Mr. Hatch. I wonder why the strong backing of the RIAA? Who knew that Hatch was a top notch musician.
It would be tragic if Hatch's songs got out on P2P networks. Hell, sales would probably rise on his album.

Has Orrin "Down-The-" Hatch spoken out on human rights violations around the world in the past (i.e. Cuba, China, Sudan)? If so, he should just zip his lip the next time a totalitarian regime cracks down on dissent, or on peaceful demonstrations, or whatever, precisely because it would reveal him for the hypocrite he is -- ESPECIALLY since he's signed off on stooping to "their" level on this issue.
And just a question: What does the middle-initial "G" stand for? Gall (as in unmitigated...)? Greed? Gonif? I'm open to suggestions . . .

(This is my first post, by the way)
AntiRepublican: I've also been emailing. Three days ago, I sent an email to a local artist, who makes some pretty cool rock tunes. He's heard some of the music I've made, and thinks it's pretty cool. He's encouraged me to keep going with my music.
About a year ago, he signed a contract with Universal Music Norway. I felt I had to give him a reminder about the RIAA:
"Artists who have contracts with RIAA associated record companies (Sony, Universal, BMG, Warner, EMI and more), could expect to have their fans sued for millions. Read this: http://www.azoz.com/news2/warning.html
I felt I had to send you that link after reading the news about RIAA starting lawsuits against 261 P2P file sharers. Since May I've been boycotting the RIAA, and will NOT buy any CD's by RIAA associated labels. My money shouldn't support suing music fans, "stealing" from the artists and intense lobbying to create more freedom-killing laws.
By the way: There hasn't been any progress with my music projects the last few months."
Reply from him:
"That one was a bitter email. Maybe it's time to and get things done, rather than supporting file sharing - which is what actually is stealing from the artists."
I immediately sent him a reply, mentioning that I, and lots of people at boycott-riaa.com, do not support "stealing", and want the artists to be compensated for their works. I also gave him the link to Steve Albini's article about how the music business works.
So far he hasn't replied to this email...

isn't it a little ironic that Orin Hatch
does not have a forum on his web site or a ay to contact thruogh email on his site????? Seems a little strange to me taht an artist would not have a way for thier fans to contact them directly or do you think he may be afraid toto post one.

To 'woodhead': There's a reason why Mr. "Down-The-" Hatch doesn't have an E-mail link. He KNOWS that much of the informed public (as opposed to the proverbial "sheeple") is / are opposed to this New World Order power grab -- and, very much a stooge / useful idiot of, and collaborationist with, the multinational entertainment-media complex, he COULDN'T CARE LESS what you or I thought. He is 1000% (that is not a misprint, this is deliberate) foursquare on the side of Goliath, and thus has total contempt for all the Davids who are being menaced thereby.

I registered to vote today, waited in line for about an hour. Secretary of State office here is terribly slow..worth it though so long as my vote makes an impact no matter how small it may be.
This Orrin Hatch needs to be ousted. At least Michigan Senators aren't as bad as he is..although I did get the standard "The RIAA is right and you are wrong but thanks for bringing this to my attention" reponse to all my emails.

Welcome Wayshot and thanks for the link...it is a great one.
I myself have been getting a lot of hmmm's and hah's from the artist's webmasters. I think they are getting more email than they will ever admit.
I am also tying up RIAA bandwidth with 3 other computers that are not networked to mine...their site is sure slowing down!!!
And about your music...hang in there, please...it is just one move in the overall game.....don't ever give up.

Support any campaign finance reform bills you see. End the RIAA-paid $18,000 trips to Asia.

The one issue which unites the entire media industry is their hatrid of "pirates". Of course we get bad press.
An RIAA christmas song:
Hes making a list
and checking it twice
Gonna find out whos naughty and nice
RIAA coming to court
He knows if your downloading
He knows if you dont pay
He knows how youve not spent enough
so pay up for goodness sake

I need also remind everyone that "Sen." Orrin "Down-the-" Hatch, from the looks of it (besides his radical turning against consumers) isn't all THAT conservative - I.I.N.M., he may have gotten some flack from the pro-life movement for his support of stem-cell research.

I support stem cell research. My own version of ethics is very different from the conventional version But if Orrin is supporting it, I suspect the motivation is not advanceing science or cureing deseases but the thought of all the tax money that will flow in from the medical companies.
