" ... Hillary Rosen is stepping down from her post as patron saint of the content cartel to become another among hundreds of network and cable TV pseudo-journalists holding forth from pre-approved scripts, as well as a rich diversity of government and corporate press releases," writes Thomas C Greene in the UK's excellent The Register.
Noting that she's down to join the CNBC, "to explain the importance of media synergy and the terrible dangers of allowing information to be disseminated through any means not under the direct control of the media cartel," he gives a quote by Hil in The New York Post, namely, "They are looking for me to do the larger picture on some of the content convergence and media consolidation issues and know that I have a point of view on many issues as a longtime advocate."
Observes Thomas, "That would be the 'larger picture' belonging to the 'smaller interests' of the cartel as opposed to the 'smaller picture' belonging to the 'larger interests' of the public," adding, "It's good to see that Hill hasn't lost her flack's edge in speaking complete rubbish that sounds rather good, at least so long as one doesn't think about what it means."

How could anyone NOT say today's media outlets provid an impartial and unbias view of the topics they covers?
What would really help is if they all merged toegher, bought up newspapers, magazines and radio. Then the poor/stupid public wouldn't have to be confused by hearing 2 sides of any given issue.

Actually having only one would definitly be VERY BAD. Ever heard of waco or ruby ridge, those alone show that the media is biased and wrong, plus other countries have only a few media sources, and they all lie a lot about whats really going on.

Were lied to repeatedly in the media, what would having only one do for us? Make things more corrupt.

I just wish that Thomas C Greene would learn that that Rosen woman is spelled with one "L" That Clinton woman has two in her name.

How about we all petition CNBC to give the bitch...errr...witch...err...you know who I mean! a 2 hour special to "introduce" her to the viewers. Why 2 hours? Give her an hour to spew her BS then an hour for us to call in and show the nation exactly how full of shit she really is. You think she'd be up to the challenge of taking our calls live on national tv with no script, no editing, and no safety net? We could only pray that George Z could get through on the phone lines

a corporate media run by and for corporations. say goodbye to the wonderful beliefs and structure this country was built and bow before the mighty $. so absurd that one of coprate media's biggest stooges will now be "informing" us on media consilidation.
rosen says "longtime advocate" of what? perhaps she can advocate that the total control of media by a select few corporations is not enough we need complete and utter control of all media stimuli of one corporation that loves us all.
