Head RIAA truth adjustor Hilary 'Reach Out' Rosen is slated start work on CNBC's Squawk Box, Open Exchange and Capital Report on August 1, says an RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) puff-release on its new, supposedly hack-proof web page.
She'll, "discuss political and regulatory issues as they portend to the media, entertainment and the information industries".
That's a relief.
"I'm thrilled at the opportunity to work with the great executives, journalists and other contributors at CNBC," gushed Reach Out, continuing modestly, "Over the years, I have developed expertise in the growth and challenges continually facing the world of entertainment, media and technology and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the viewers of CNBC."
The puff-piece also says - and we're not making this up - "Rosen appears regularly on various, influential year-end power lists".
Rumours that she'll be paid around $2 million a year are, of course, totally ridiculous.

Remember, prior to GE (parent of CNBC) selling it to Bertelsmann, the "We Bring Good Things To Life" company had their tentacles in the recording industry via RCA Records (this, after GE acquired RCA Corporation in 1985-86; a transaction which they would help pay for by palming off the record company to Bertelsmann).
