Tids and Bits:
- No more waiting for music uploads to sync with the server in LA. Tracks are now uploaded straight to the fileserver
- The server upgrade took so long because dmusic's now sporting over a hundred gigabytes of music and it was transfered to the new fileserver at less than 30Kbps
- The image server is still being situated, so uploading of user images won't function for the next day or two
- There's been a bit of bug crushing during the changeover, but new bugs might have cropped in any case. Let us know if you find anything.

Lastly... enjoy!

Some of youmay be able to get on a little quicker than others, as some ISPs cache the pages to serve them faster. As the new DNS propagates it should fix itself..Me I still have to come in the hard way.

That was a really quick installation. Deviantart takes around half a day! Well, I guess the load is much higher over there.

Far from quick, i worked on that for two or three weeks. Though i guess it seemed quick because most of it was behind the scenes. Today's switch would have been even shorter if the rsync of the database and images had utilised full bandwidth for the transfer.

Also, the community over at DA is much larger than here. We'll fix that soon.

definitley check the code on the journal "comments"

there is definitely an issue with the "music tab" --"users online list" compared to our personal online list.

The two do not correspond.. or at least not at this moment...

people that are not showing up on my buddy list, are showing up as a user on line in that page.

example "user is offline" on their home page
not on my buddy list...
yet on the music online list...
that actual page"music" seems to be the issue for user pages are inline with proper status.

also the community online status(buddy list) is also in line

All of the links on boycott-riaa.com either take me to a 404 page, or a page that seems like it's full of sql errors.

ChillinBuzz... i'll have to get back to you. I did some preliminary testing and i have no idea why your page isn't working. It's not... supposed... to break... like that. It should be an all users or nothing sort of deal. If it persists, i'll setup a little hack until i can get it working normally again.

How much for the used servers? Can I get 5 or more PCI soundcards into one? I have my own HDs laying around...

The site is faster tho' and I can stream music and have yahoo messenger running at the same time now (MSN messeneger didnt give me problems) I was very happy when I found Dmusic that winamp was 100% compatable, I slid some Skanky Ranky Roo in with RATM and Beastie Boys and my company (we wuz partyin') never relized I was online and also enjoyed Skanky and B-Side a lot.
