New York-based director Jörg Fockele is seeking independent musicians who are interested in making music videos. Fockele, a graduate of the Munich School for Television and Film in Germany, has worked with Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Dayne on past projects and currently focuses his efforts on the indie community.
He has an astonishingly diverse repertoire: his works include a documentary on queer youth called Rules of the Game, an expressionist silent film called Alice and the Aurifactor, and videos for the artists Everett Bradley, Peachy Warren and Angel Santiago. A 2001 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, Fockele has also received two Emmys for his work on "Gotham TV."
DMusic artists who are interested in creating music videos and electronic press kits for their work can check out Jörg's website, http://www.fockele.com/, and contact him at jorg@fockele.com. It's good to know that there are directors focusing their attention on working with indie artists who are on tight budgets.

Providing we can afford the low-budget video (and without questioning a word of the article), what are we supposed to do with it once it is created?

Hello,
(1) The link above accidentally includes the comma in the sentence -- remove the comma from the end of the URL and it's fine. Sorry about that.
(2) I have not had any personal contact with the director; the info was sent to me by a publicist I know, and I thought it might be of interest to you all. So I'm afraid I have no further info beyond his website re: how to get a CD to him or what is done with the resulting videos -- I leave that up to the artists' due diligence.
(I should imagine, though, that the resulting video would be either streamed on one's website or burned onto CD and sent out as part of one's press kit.)

Hello everyone,
Especially haydenswall, invocati, CountryMusikMan and jmccombs. This is Jorg Fockele, the director from the above posting. Thanks for putting my info on your web site. If any of you want to send me your cds or discuss a music video, please send me an email to the address given in the article and I will make sure to respond to you asap.
My web site is going to be relaunched by the end of the month - much better design and much easier to open. If you don't have the patience to wait until then, please ignore the first two pages and just go straight to stills from my films and videos or download the opening of my director's reel. Also please check out OnStage magazine online in May. There will be a long article on the dos and don'ts of low budget music video making that I was interviewed for. I will post the link as soon as I get it from the editor.
