SongSpy's dead
Posted by Advancedtim in on October 15, 2002 at 11:24 PM

Once again the RIAA has had its way with yet another p2p program. When does it stop? I mean honestly? Why the hell does information have a price tag? Why is it that the big bully always seems to win?

I’m so tired of this. I ask that each and every one of the people who read this article surf on over to http://www.imgentertainment.com/ and fill out the form. Take a stand. I’ve nothing else to say.:(

I'm curious to know if the RIAA has access to that new "database".

It would be absurd to think that the RIAA is not trying to make their own database of users who oppose them to gain facts, opinions and ideas on how to continue to take our sites down.

Just something to remember guys - just because they SAY they're for file-sharing doesn't mean that the actually ARE.

Next thing you know, the alphabet-soup lobbies (that is, RIAA-MPAA) for the multinational entertainment-media complex will be demanding a compulsory license for even having a computer, let alone Internet access or P2P -- just like in, say, Fidel Castro's Cuba.

Just one more instance of the RIAA's proto-Marxist leanings (and I mean Marxist as in their advocacy of Big Government intrusion into: 1. certain aspects of people's lives, and 2. certain technologies).

Marxism doesn't nescarrily imply a authoritarian government. There are such things as Libertarian socialists and so forth.
There actually have been a few examples in history of such governments, and they worked quite well (the Paris Commune, the Sandinista government in Argentina, etc).

Remember the RIAA doesn't bother thinking about consumers in quantities less than ten thousand :-) (Smile). They are only intrested in us when we are paying them.

In response to L.I.M.B.'s latest query: Er . . . no, though I listen to the show. :-/

I, however, have not as of yet heard about his stance on these particular proto-police state measures favored by the alphabet-soup lobbies and their stooges in the House and Senate. (Including the multinational entertainment-media complex's thumbing their nose at traditional family values as manifested by their lawsuit against entities like Cleanflicks, which have been offering for sale versions of certain films with filth and vulgarity taken out.)
