we received this email recently, which we tought we would share with our fellow dmusicians. Somebody is listening to your dmusic, thats fer sure.....
Hello
This is Prince's NPG Music Club. We appreciate u reprinting r article and providing a link. However, we did want 2 let u know that it is not credited 2 Prince. While it certainly reflects his views like everything else on the site, he is not the only one who had a hand in writing it. If u could credit it 2 the NPG Music Club instead, we would be very grateful.

heheh, they just HAD to continue the same "2, 4 and u and r" typing convention huh? Well, still makes em sound like a teenage fan club more than a serious group, but the article did make sense.

Prince is notorious for surrounding himself with unabashed, sycophantic ass-kissers.
It doesn't surprise me that they talk/write like him. They probably walk around on their knees when he's around to be eye level with him too.

I also think the use of 2, 4, u, and r is silly.
Now on to other things. Do you remember back in 1999 when Hillary said:
"MP3 is really popular with a certain user, but it's still a hassle for the average music fan. The experience of opening up a CD jewel box and sticking it in your player while you're cooking your stew and expecting your company in three seconds -- that's how people want their music."

Hi, I am a long time reader/first time poster. Funny, I thought this was a place made to discuss thoughts regarding music, piracy, etc. Seems like everyone's more interrested in proper grammar. You "quick to criticize" people are completely ignoring the thoughts expressed here for the way it is put. Dont feel alone though, other living things do this too... they're called dogs. Anyway I was able to understand what was said in this and the article before without problem or pause due to the replaced words. True if this were directed to some political office it would be ignored, but that's because they ignore anything that's not in political speak, that doesn't threaten their office, or is not wrapped in money. So what's the big deal, this message was directed to the public via the net! Anyone who has made it to this page has probibally seen a chat room before and therefore could pick up on what's said here pretty easily. I think most of you commenters are drawn to this page not to discuss music or anything about it. Perhaps at one time you were but now I think most of you are here just because you are looking for something to complain about. My thoughts on the articles? Well thought out and well put.

I think you missed the point. If someone can express themselves in a more clear way (avoiding 2, 4, u, and r) then that is better. And in reality, there is no reason not to be clear.

I totally agree but grammar still has little to do with the idea of this site and should not have brought on so many meaningless and useless complaints. That much could have been said in one or two posts. I read the comments here in hopes that there would be some discussion of the artical not the context. If i want post after post the subject of grammar I'll spend my time on a english major's messageboard. I love debate but this will be my last post on this subject as it is making this problem bigger. As far as being clear... did any of you really have so much trouble reading the article.

oh grow up Anti-Inc.. if you don't like what people say here... then I guess ya might wanna take your ball and go play somewhere else. There WERE some interesting comments made on content as well as form.... mine being one of them. No complaint is useless or meaningless if it helps someone get a point across, or get an opinon out in the open. Even yours. I may not agree, but I'm also not going belittle what time you took to put your thoughts into words. Please provide the same courtesy to others.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Prince's creative spelling is just another one of his pretentious affectations and therefore, worthy of scorn.
Good grammar is diminishing on the internet, there seems to be acronyms for everything.
Maybe Prince was ahead of his time?
