Yeah, but there was a chance that it might come back, BMG offered to buy the company, for 8 or 9 million, but was turned down by the judge. Then again it was probably gonna die anyway since BMG has decided to get out of their online ventures.

Well, I used Napster and it was very cool, until they had the virus an a fee for it. Right now, I use Kaza and WinMX and they work just fine :>

1. What does masturbation have to do with Napster?
2. Smelv1n: Eat shit. In defense of Angelo, he DOES give a shit...trust me, I know. I've known the guy since he was a 17 year old kid...DM is/was (however you wanna see it) his (and the rest of the admins) baby.
Sorry, I'm off my soapbox. I just can't stand when people criticize a person/situation that they know next to nothing about.
Back to lurking...

Napster was pretty cool. Our dying CD ROM manufacturing plant copied a couple thousand files for our termination party.
The thing I'm wondering now is - after the feds get done jacking you kids around, are they going to find time to come after all the cassettes we copied in the 70's?
Keep up the good fight.

Even with the Napster RIP, Shawn Fanning will still be remembered as one of the greatest heroes in music biz today. He revolutionized internet music delivery, and pionered efficent P2P file distribution.
I wish the best to Shawn Fanning, Konrad Hilbers, Claire Hough, Mangus Cooney, Lyn Jensen, and the entire former Napster team.

It's been a great time seeing the revolution that has occured. So much so fast. Napster was truly the best, and as much as I hate to see it die it's better than it going to a record. Napster is not gone it's still alive today in the programs it has spawned.
Thank You Shawn!
Thank You Napster!!
Hail Mp3!!!

anotheroldguy -- glad to see that some "oler, more responsable" people see it that way too.. that was exactly how i explained it to my mom back when mp3 came out and it started getting the bad publicity. she knows notheing about technology, but she heard it was bad (and illegal) so she flipped when she found out that i had a few..
i asked how it was any different then the mixed tapes we used to make (we listen to the same music so it made it lot easier ) and told her how they're made and stuff and she sees it the same way you stated... "what's the big deal?"
it's been done since before she was a kid...
to those of you playing a more active role in the fight - thanks a lot. you guys are great!
