If someone can post a better one - that uses the same phrase "the independant digital
community" and make it the sort of the size of the current logo ( maybe a bit bigger - )

I agree that the logo is fine as it is and that there are other things a lot more important that we should be focusing on. The logo as it stands has been associated with DMusic for so long, drastically changing it will alienate DMusic farther from it's original core audiance (IMHO).

Hey larry I changed it so you need to click on the above image to get to the .png. It takes about 20 minutes for a dial-up user to see it.
Personally I don't think a new logo is necessary... I DO however think that redesigning hardware.dmusic.com is VERY necessary and I wish it could be done sooner. As of right now hardware.dmusic.com is a dead site only used for it's archives. There's no point me updating because nobody goes to the homepage at all. This is what drew MANY people to this site. Including a HUGE portion of mp3.com's users who were looking for an alternate review to mp3.com's.
Bringing back a software section wouldn't be a bad idea either. Although there is no staff who is well versed in their software, you would need to hire a person.

i think word's is the best original effort so far, but i really like TJ's signal wave-effect thing.. maybe add something like that to word's horns at each end of the logo?? i also dig the way F8 put "digital" across the top, coming off of the D (tho would it be redundant if it said "digital" at the top, and had that phrase at the bottom?).
