Best Horror Movie Review Site EVER!!! Well Not really but it's still cool.

Welcome my friends how are you all today? Bad? Good. Let's see if these D-Musical Notes will chear you up?
The sweet as sugah, Jay and Silent Bob Strike's Back DVD came out today, I picked one up at 10 am after searching many miles and 4 different stores was I able to find it too. Director, Kevin Smith wrote and directed this funny but very hollow movie. That DVD is really good I spent 2 hours today just going through the extras and I'm still not done. Not to mention I still have to watch the movie and then the commentary track, which is sure to be funny.

Now on with your news.
Michael Jackson blows off Grammys

News Bites:
Ending what amounted to a will-he-or-won't-he awards show thriller, the folks at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences have confirmed that Michael Jackson will not be moonwalking at the Grammy Awards Wednesday night.
The Recording Academy says it was Jackson who nixed the performance, according to Reuters.
The decision culminates a months-long tug of war between the Grammys and the rival American Music Awards. AMA producer and longtime Jackson pal Dick Clark that he sued Grammy executive Michael Greene for $10 million, citing unfair competition because of Recording Academy policy banning artists from performing at the Grammys if they've already played at the AMAs.
After much back and forth, Jackson did appear at the AMAs in January to receive the Artist of the Century. Because he was not allowed to sing, he had planned to simply provide a taped performance of "Man in the Mirror." But even that didn't happen, as his reps reportedly demanded the tape be yanked from the telecast at the last minute and Jackson merely collected his trophy.
By refusing to perform on the Grammys, Jacko now will have missed an opportunity to showcase his music on both shows, which may hurt his bottom line. Artists who perform on such widely seen awards ceremonies usually see a big uptick in music sales--something Jacko's underperforming Invincible cound definitely have used.
It's not known whether MJ will even turn up for the Grammys, where he's nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category for "You Rock My World" from Invincible. The Grammycast will be televised live on CBS with Jon Stewart hosting. More on that article here.
Joe's D-Thoughts:
Man that sucks, he's not going to get anything shown on either award shows? Are there still hardcore Michael fans out there anyway? I know he's really damn popular in Europe but aside from the first week or two of his last album we don't hear much about the no-nosed King of Pop.
Cobain Journal to be Published
Credit Mtv News
News Bites:
Avoiding what was expected to be an intense bidding war over Kurt Cobain's journals, a New York imprint snapped up the world publishing rights on Monday for a seven-figure sum.
Publishers who got an advance look at the diaries were told to submit their bids by 11 a.m. on Monday , but the auction was called off around 10 a.m. after a deal was struck with Riverhead Books, a division of Penguin Putnam.
"The journals are an intimate, unadulterated portrait of an artist of great influence," Riverhead's Julie Grau, who will be the project's editor, said in a statement released Tuesday (February 26). "They reveal Cobain's vision and design, they document his creative and personal struggles. They are insightful, provocative, moving, funny and show him to be very smart and very aware."
Though disappointed bidders surmised that Riverhead must have offered a rather large sum in order to close out the auction, Courtney Love's manager, Jim Barber, said the financial commitment wasn't the only consideration. He said he could not discuss the details of the terms, but he confirmed it was a seven-figure deal and denied reports that pegged the price at $4 million. Nice read some more.
Joe's D-Thoughts:
Sweet, I just wish Courtney Love had nothing to do with it though. Oh well I might pick it up this fall if I have money. More than likely I won't so I'll just photocopy the book instead. :D
Uh-oh... Morpheus was shut down
Credit CNet News
News Bites:
Computer users looking to log on were presented with a message telling them to upgrade their software to connect, although no newer version of the software was available.
A StreamCast spokeswoman confirmed that the network was temporarily inaccessible to many people, citing "technical issues," but she did not give any details. She gave no estimate on when a fix would be available.
Morpheus is built on peer-to-peer technology that allows people to connect directly with each other's computers to trade files--an architecture that has been touted as impervious to the kind of court order that shut down predecessor Napster.
Morpheus uses software originally created by a group of Dutch developers at FastTrack that also powers rival Kazaa. That file-swapping network, which was recently acquired by Australia's Sharman Networks, appeared to be functioning normally Tuesday. A new version of Kazaa was released Feb. 11.
StreamCast, along with Kazaa and Grokster, is being sued in Los Angeles federal court by the big record labels and movie studios, which contend the services are contributing to widespread copyright infringement. The two sides are scheduled to meet in court March 4.
Joe's D-Thoughts:
Hmm... This totally takes my F-You to the RIAA and flushes it down the toilet. They said it was a software problem can the government force P2P programmers to throw in the little "problem" to shut it down? This proves to be interesting and a little bit scary for us P2P users. OUR WHOLE WORLD IS CRUMBLING!!!
Bill Evans has some news on how some mp3s can F*ck up your computers (it's a conspiracy by Bill Gates and Real). Read all about it.
Some one named Super reported in more detail of the RIAA blaming "pirates" on CD sales decline.
I recieved one of those electro-shock ABForce things today, I got one cause the damn thing looks fun and I could shed that bit of winter belly I gained last wee... er over the winter. Well to my surprise it isn't just a glorified vibrating massage machine. The thing feels like it jabs you in the stomache with rocks. Kinda neat, kinda creepy, but hey for 20 bucks it's not a bad toy. It'd make an interesting torture device I could see it now I strap it to some schmoe's face while he's all tied up and shock his face till he looks like Cher, muah ha ha ha... I'm evil!!!
Oh yeah some other news...
Call now Brown Cow
News Bites:
A free-spirited cow who eluded capture after escaping a date with death in a slaughterhouse 11 days ago was captured on Tuesday in the back yard of a home.
Harold Dates, director of the Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said the 1,200-pound white Charolais was tranquilized after being flushed out of a wooded park less than a mile from the slaughterhouse.
The cow had been roaming the park since her escape, and various efforts to capture her made TV network news.
Success came after society workers set up a corral with decoy cows in the park. The cow was lured into the corral and tranquilized a first time, but kept going until a second shot brought her down in the yard.
The cow has earned clemency from the execution that awaited her at the Ken Meyer Meats slaughterhouse, Dates said.
Marge Schott, the former owner of the Cincinnati Reds' baseball team, has said the cow can have a new home on her farm.
Joe's D-Thoughts:
Lucky friggin' cow. Did you know that cows actually know that they are about to be slaughtered. They start to cry when they are in line to get their throats slit and their heads chopped off. This seems to be the first smart cow and ran away and hid. Good thinking cow!!! Too bad he fell for the whole bunch of fake cows on the field trick though.
AOL is EVIL!!!
News Bites:
A lawsuit filed Friday in San Francisco by former subscribers alleges that the AOL Time Warner subsidiary "unlawfully charged" and withdrew funds for unordered merchandise from subscribers' credit cards, debit cards and checking accounts. The suit also claims AOL collected fees for shipping and handling costs.
AOL rebutted the charges Tuesday, saying it has a full-refund policy plus an online shopping guarantee for its members. The company noted that it regularly offers members an array of products that they can choose to purchase or decline.
"We strongly believe that the allegations are without merit, and we intend to vigorously contest the lawsuit in court," said AOL spokesman Nicholas Graham. "AOL's shopping experience is very straightforward and very practical and convenient for our members and follows standard industry practice for online retailing."
The case highlights the sales tactics of AOL, which built its business on relentless marketing. It continues to tout its merchandising prowess as a core strength after last year's $147 billion merger with Time Warner. With the company's stock price trading near a 52-week low, executives have portrayed e-commerce as a bright spot.
Plaintiffs in Friday's lawsuit took issue with AOL's practice of welcoming members to the site with a pop-up ad pushing products such as Lexmark's printer/fax machine--a pitch made to some subscribers Tuesday. Members can bypass the ads by clicking a "No thanks" button or can request additional information about the product.
A group of California residents who filed the lawsuit said they received items even after clicking "No thanks." Products that appeared on their doorsteps included a desk planner, a digital CD player, a digital camera, a "Gardening for Dummies" book, "Home Depot" books and a "Torreador Bed-in-a-Bag," according to the filing.
Attorneys who filed the lawsuit are seeking approval from the court to add thousands of other individuals whom they say may have similar complaints.
Barry Himmelstein, a partner at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, which filed the suit, said his law firm has been contacted by more than 200 AOL subscribers with similar complaints.
"By the time I got 50 calls, I figured there was a real problem here that needed to be solved," Himmelstein said. "Most of these people tried to solve it with AOL, and apparently AOL has not made any effort to fix the problem, because it continues to happen."
Joe's D-Thoughts:
AOL is f*cking with people??? Nah...
And that's it from me. Peace yo.

MJ should've performed in one of those award shows to help out his sub par album which isn't doing too hot. he should understand that he's going up against artists such as nas, ludacris, alicia keys, linkin park, creed, etc. as far as record sales goes and that a nice performance would help him out greatly. and as for aol they sucked doggie ballz on that free trial. c'mon that crappy service for 20 bucks fuhgedaboudit hence me payin for broadband since those idiots turned me off completely from dial up and any other service that i use. I just hope that stuff like this don't happen on any other pay type service on the internet.
And thats just a damn shame about that cow. i'm sure she would've made a really nice fine n lean cheesesteak

Rumor has it that MJ put up the publishing rights to the Beatles songs (which he owns) as security on the $30 million it cost to do Invincible...with the poor performance of the album it looks like his label will soon own the Beatles Publishing rights.
Not confirmed, but heavily rumored....

Bill, I believe it, and i'll tell ya why.
Beatles music for years had been basically "off-limits" to advertising. However, in the last few months, I've seen more tv commercials using their music than in all the previous years combined. I've narrowed it doen to 2 speculative scenarios: either the music is currently under someone else's control. ...or... Michael had been simply respecting George Harrison's wishes that the group's music not be used that way. Once he died, like a mafioso who respected his mother, the shoe dropped. How coincidental is it that the first ad i'd seen post-Harrison used "Taxman" for its soundtrack? And after all, we know Jacko doesn't respect Macca.
If Sony gains ownership of the Beatles songwriting, Paul, if he regains interest in being overcharged for his own work, may be able to negotiate w/them for a much lower price than Michael tried to extort. Ironically, if Michael forfeits the catalog for this, he'll have received tons less revenue than had he sold them to McCartney for his original bid. Super ironically, it was Paul who originally advised Michael to consider getting into music publishing. The whole thing irks me.
