I'm almost to my goal of doing five DMusic Member Profiles in a row, only one more to go! But don't worry, because after that I'll continue to do one per week. Today's participate is backmann, a great dude from Buena Aires who plays rugby to get all the ladies! And ... he's multilingual.

[Heidi] backmann, you're a very hard man to get a hold of! What is it that keeps you so busy?

[backman] busy??? haha, no.... actually I'm on holidays, and doing as less as I can

[Heidi] I see. So you're trying to "look" busy so you seem more important? Well it worked because we've been trying to set upthis interview for like 4 days! :)

[Heidi] Haha. Anyway, why not go ahead and introduce yourself.

[backman] OK, my name is Ivan, I'm only 16, I live in Buenos Aires and I'm on my last year at high school

[Heidi] Wow, Buenos Aires! Do you like living there?

[backman] yes, it's very beautiful and I have everything I need here. I wouldn't change it for anything.

[Heidi] Awesome.

[Heidi] You've been a member of DMusic since December of 01. Yet you have an amazing amount of points for that short period of time; over 2500. How did you rack up that big number?

[backman] Actually, I'm a member of Gnutella.com since then. The first time I came here was during the end of January. I just have a lot of free time. People here are very friendly and I enjoyposting in the forums.

[Heidi] Ah yes, the forums are fun aren't they? Sometimes things can get a little crazy though!

[Heidi] Do you have a favorite topic or thread from the forums?

[backman] hmmmmm, no... the funniest part of the forums is that you never know what topic can come next. "Let's make weze intermediate" for example :D

[Heidi] Good choice! That weaponzero guy is fun.

[Heidi] So you're on your last year of high school ... are you looking forward to it ending and moving on? Or are you happy where you are?

[backman] No, I'll go to college, but I haven't decided what to study yet

[Heidi] Good deal.

[Heidi] Are there any gnutella or DMusic users that you interact with frequently that you want to mention? Good or bad? Hehe.

[backman] Hmmm... milla and fragwster are cool, and recently also clonesrppl2

[Heidi] I've seen clonesrppl2 around lately also. I'll make a mental note to say hi.

[Heidi] When you're not in school, visiting DMusic or gnutella, what are you doing? :)

[backman] I play rugby, piano and on weekends i like to go to the club or hang out with my friends

[Heidi] Is Rugby a big sport over there?

[backman] after football (soccer) and getting chicks it's the most popular sport here among men

[Heidi] Haha! So you're quite the chick magnet then. :love:

[Heidi] symonx is always looking for a good man, maybe you two could hang out. (Kidding!)

[Heidi] That was just a joke. Heh.

[backman] haha, ok, I'll send him a note with my phone # :love:

[Heidi] Now that I think of it, where does your nick, backmann, come from?

[backman] My full name is Ivan Francisco von Fonay Baumann. Teachers call me "Baumann", and once I was talking with my friends, my rugby coach was walking in front of as and said "wazssupbackmann??", and I liked it, and since then I was known as Backmann in the team

[Heidi] Oooh, I like it too.

[backman] now they don't call me like that anymore, but I still use it for my nicknames

[Heidi] You have quite a full name there.

[Heidi] I would imagine when you're signing legal papers that it doesn't fit on the small line they give you.

[Heidi] Because I have a rather short name and I can never get mine to fit.

[Heidi] Anywho, if you were mastah of the world and could add any feature to DMusic that you wanted ... want would it be?

[backman] a shoutbox that wasn't used as a search engine

[backman] :)

[Heidi] You seem to be in the majority there. Once we get a real searchbox back on DMusic, hopefully all our woes will be fixed.

[Heidi] With the recent addition of a bunch of cool emoticons, thanks to our own inertia, do you have a favorite?

[Heidi] I happen to like :coke: and :pepsi: a lot myself.

[backman] :sleepy:, cause it looks like me, :coke:, :pepsi:, and all the little flags

[Heidi] We have the same taste ;) Good to know.

[Heidi] Your user icon is pretty neat. Did you make it yourself? It reminds me of the sun kinda.

[backman] Yes, I made it myself just because I couldn't make the one I had done first smaller than 5 K. This one used to have other colours, but I changed them and now it looks like a star or abutton. It's open to interpretation.

[Heidi] Good plan, don't narrow yourself down to one idea. Heh.

[Heidi] Because you're a gnutella.com visitor ... I take it you're a fan of the gnutella clients? Like Gnucleus and Lime Wire? Or am I off?

[backman] I like Gnotella. It's no longer under development but it's the one I like most. I'll try PEERanha on March.

[Heidi] How clever people are these days, PEERanha. Like the fish.

[backman] Yes, very ingenious name.

[Heidi] Do you know what came first, the chicken or the egg?

[backman] The chicken, the egg has no legs

[Heidi] That is a good thought. Do you know why the dinosaurs became extinct?

[backman] why?

[Heidi] No, I'm asking. Heh. :D

[Heidi] Coming up with a really good theory? Heh.

[backman] Oh, sorry :D. Because of an asteroid that hit the Earth. I suppose they wanted to leave with style.

[backman] There are a lot of creatures that are extincted, but only dinosaurs have so many movies.

[Heidi] Now that I think about it, you live in Buenos Aires ... the national language isn't English there is it?

[backman] No, it's Spanish :spain:

[Heidi] Yet, you know English very well. How did this come about?

[backman] I've been studying English since I was 5. I've taken three international exams, one from London University and 2 from Cambridge.

[backman] They are compulsory in my school.

[Heidi] Holy cow! :pow: A genius!

[Heidi] You know, I've taken four years of Spanish myself...how about you say something and I'll try to respond? :)

[backman] OK. ¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana?

[Heidi] Um ... Voy a jugar a béisbol

[Heidi] How'd that go?

[backman] Err, I asked you what you did and you said what you were going to do.

[Heidi] Close enough!

[backman] Yes! Not bad at all.

[Heidi] The most important thing to know is, "¿Dónde está el baño?"

[backman] Hahaha, absolutely right :D.
