A new version of LimeWire (a Java-based cross-platform Gnutella client) has been released. Changes in this version: - Elegant metadata display. No more "change view" button; you just turn columns on and off. You can also view the metadata for a file if its available simply by mousing over that search result.
- Automatic requering. When a download fails, a new search for that same file is automatically launched, and the download is automatically attempted again.
- Menus appear in Mac menu bar on OS X, with "Quit," "About LimeWire...," and Preferences..." options meeting the OS X look and feel guidelines.
- Reduced number of inter-ultrapeer connections to conserve bandwidth for UltraPeers.
- Added loading information to splash screen.
- Splash screen had a new edgy, "extreme sports" look.

According to Limewire.com, verison 2.2.2 allows "swarmed" downloads, but the faq describes this process this way:
"When using "Download ANY," the members of a group will be prioritized based on speed, so the system will attempt to download fast files, such as those connected through T1 lines, before attempting to download files on slower connections, such as modems. This feature does not ultimately affect the likelihood of a successful download, but means the download will take place more quickly."
Doesn't "swarmed" downloads usually mean that I can download th same file at the same time from moe than one ressource?
I'm confused.

jank0, the "download any" feature provides the functionality of bearshare's multisource downloads; the "download all" feature provides the functionality of xolox's multisource downloads . Of course, gnucleus provides all this functionality and runs much faster than limewire, since it's not written in java...

The biggest disadvantage of LimeWire 224 is currently that it may loose partial downloads if you quit the program/disconnect/crash. That's extremely annoying if you get video data.
Did anyone figure out how to move a partial
dl to a different machine?
