Fellow Travelers - Gina Sez

Fellow Travelers,

Happy New Year to all. Thanks so much for a great tour - it was so much fun for us. Having Michael Franti and Spearhead along made it even better. We look forward to playing with them again in the future.

The guys are all doing great and are spending time with their friends and families. After which they will be going into a writing session. During this summer's tours they will debut some of these songs from the sessions as well as work on continuing to make the live shows exciting and new.

We hope to be able to announce many tour dates soon. So far it looks like we will be starting the tour in May, including Jazz Fest. If you're wondering about your 4th of July plans, we are definitely playing Red Rocks this year and we will let you know if we are adding more dates in Denver soon, so start looking into getting yourself there. Basically, we'll be hitting the road again for a good part of the year.

So much is going on here and we would like to involve all of you. First, we are currently thinking about opening bands. Who would you like to see Blues Traveler tour with this year? Email your ideas to me at blackcatz@earthlink.net and I will get them to the guys.

Second, we are looking to release a live CD from last year's Fall/Winter tour through our website and thought it would be fun to have some of you submit cover art ideas to us for this. So email your art to me at blackcatz@earthlink.net. Be sure to include a phone number and e-mail address so I can reach you. As we get closer to a date that it will be ready, we will let you know about deadlines - but don't drag your feet, get going!

A very special thanks to all the Fellow Travelers that helped us flyer for the last tour. You were all great to work with and I really enjoyed meeting you. We hope to do this again and get more of you involved. The response was so overwhelming and I know some of you were not able this time around, so we will get you for the next tours. I will send an e-mail with more about this, once we get the tours confirmed.

As many of you may know we were selling a Charity T-shirt on the last tour to raise money for The Widow and Orphans Fund for NYC Police, Port Authority and Fire Departments. Some of these New York Heroes joined the band and crew on stage at Roseland in New York for the Traditional "Wobbling Surfer" end of tour dance party. We have raised a lot of money for them and wanted to thank all of you for helping us do this. If you did not make a show on the tour or if you were not able to get a shirt at one of our shows, you can still buy one now at our website in our merchandise section.

Well, I guess that is about it for now. As I said we will post some more news and tour dates soon. We miss you all and can't wait to get back out on the road. I will look for your e-mails with your ideas and artwork. Thanks again and see you soon.. Have Fun!!

Love Gina

Gina,

Sounds like there's a lot to look forward to in 2002! Another Live CD?!? VERY COOL! I wish I could draw! hahaha!

I also want you to know that I'd be happy to help with out with the next tour. If you need me to hand out flyers, post flyers, scream from the mountain tops, I'm your guy.

Thanks to you for all of what you do for the fans. Thanks to the band for continuing to feed us with all the music, good times and love you have!

Peace,

Marc

Hey Gina!
You rock! I'd love another OFFICIAL live release! Will we get a live DVD out of the guys? I'll submit some some pics or something for the cover 'cause I can't paint draw or anything. I'll be going to the Nevada shows. I'll see you there?

I so could not believe my eyes this afternoon when I saw BT would be playing such an intimate show here in Austin "yee haw", Texas next month! I have been waiting to see these guys again since HORDE '96. I always seem to miss them, but not this time!! I am clearing the calendar WELL in advance! So, how do fans go about getting back stage passes? I would love to just shake hands, maybe take pics...something like that. Love ya! - Jeanette

A cool reply from Sweden where Blues Traveler is BIG in my house, but
in the rest of the country no one ever heard of the band! Is there a
possibility of sending the live-CD to Sweden? I don't expect to see the
band here (Bridge and Zygote albums are not even released here!), so
my only chance to hear the band is by CD. Please, it would be great to
get a chance to by this CD, and spread the word to the swedes about
one of the best band in the world!
Thank you and keep travelin' - Bjorn

I've been an avid BT follower (from afar if that's not a contradiction) since Lucy Plewman introduced us to the boys around about 1992/93. I saw BT play at the Borderline in London a few years ago and was also at that one-off gig in Liverpool University (for any Americans reading this - there were less than 20 people there - can you believe that !!). Anyway, it's been an absolute privilege to see the band and obviously listen, buy, copy, steal, bootleg and swindle anything that has the Blues Traveler tag on it.
Quick request to Gina - we'd give anything to have a few shows in the UK some time soon.
Thanks again,
Love, Scott

Things have been so crazy around here that I have only just now gotten around to buying Bridge and cracking the cellophane. Jeez I'm sorry I waited so long! Amazing as usual... congratulations guys! Just For Me has me jiggy head to toe. The Way! What can I say? All Hands has me gasping for air - John, you're a living treasure. One of the greatest songwriters of all time!

we NEED another live CD (a 2-cd set again please!) I truly miss their "live style"... it's so nice to hear their music, but even they admit that they are a jam band, jam bands ALWAYS sound best live when they can just jam to their heart's content!

This may sound a little goofy, but I've been a huge fan of the band since 1993 when a friend first introduced me to their music. Soon afterward I joined the Air Force and moved to Europe where I have been for the last 8 years, the last 6 in Germany. Even though we are not living on the front lines all the time, those of us in Europe are supporting missions all over the world. We have folks coming and going to the Balkans and the Middle East everyday. Although Germany is a nice country to live in, we all miss home desperately. Not being able to pick up and drive to a concert the next state over is a creature comfort I truly miss. I saw that BT will be doing a USO tour to the Balkans later this month. What's the chances of them stopping to do a show in Germany on their way there?
