Concerts for Artists Rights Lineups Are Set
Posted by AdvancedBill Evans in on January 28, 2002 at 8:53 PM

The lineups for the Recording Artists Coalition's "Concerts for Artists Rights" have been set. The concerts will take place at four different venues in the Southern California area and are set for Feb. 26, one day before the Grammy Awards.

The Eagles, Billy Joel, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow will play the Forum. The Offspring, No Doubt and Weezer will perform at the Long Beach Arena. Beck, Eddie Vedder and Mike Ness will come together at the Wiltern. The Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Dwight Yoakam and Emmylou Harris will play at the Universal Amphitheatre.

Those of you in California, enjoy! There is something there for everyone...Maybe they will do a DVD for the rest of us, across the country who are unable to attend

'Virtual Touring'.. record the shows to digital audio then sell that on-demand stream digitally.. The simplicity makes me question why the hell it's not being done currently.. but then again the complexity of a typcial recording contract often keeps the most simple and seemingly logical approaches for the innovative delivery and sale of music from happening currently..

That's a good idea, $1 per connection....they could raise a lot of scratch.....
