The gnutella network faces many problems.
1. Legal can gnutella be shut down?
Yes as there are only a few major sharers, it would be easy to shut down gnutella by tracing there IP address. also there are many other legal ways to shut down the gnutella network.
2. Sharing
There is no future in p2p without sharing.
Great clients like limewire which force you to share will ultimately be the future.
3. More Options!
There are many ppl talking about adding more features to clients? like web page capabilty?
WHY p2p should be p2p nothing else the only improvements really need is better chat clients,
making them similar to messenger but without the
contacts online area.
4.Speed
There are actual ways to increase the speed of p2p clients to make there ability to be 10 times faster than any web page search or downloading.
This involves simplyfying the connection process.
simplyfying the search process having everyone connceted to the network store log files containing information on whats on the network and other crap like that. blah blah lost my train of thought. anyway i want faster and it has to start now that the security on gnutella should be like a phone box, how hard is it to get free fone calls!!! WELL it should be that difficult to shut down because sooner or later the RIAA army will be here and we havent armed ourselves well enough.

ok i have just sussed it. you download a client like limewire, then double click it on your desktop[ after installing] then follow the instructions.
there is a basic error here, instructions dont cover this adequately

There are Gnutella help pages. Find them. If you're too lazy to, either you're just tired and hungry and maybe even cold, or you're the kind of person too lazy to buy music, who Gnutella really doesn't need.

Damn man i love the whole thing with gnutella man,i've been using bearshare as the download client and its very fast connecting to the gnutella network and there's no dissapointing results.BEARSHARE is the best download client for me. dont know about you guys but its working for me.so go on and get your head out of your ass and download it today right now at www.bearshare.com you wont be dissapointed.

I just recently came to gnutella after finding it in an article in Time. I must say that I'm very happy with it. I'm using Xolox and I'm happy with the speed that I'm getting on my downloads. Before I found you I was using KaZaA and I wasn't that impressed at having to wait for sometimes weeks for songs to download as I have a dialup connection. Thank you.

I just discovered Gnutella in one of the programmes on TV and was more than interested to visit. Although I was more interested in the fact that they were casting you as a bad site for business. After visiting this great site, I recon there are so many interesting staff about it. I've started telling my friends about it.I now consider myself a gnute ambassador in South Africa.

I have a problem conecting to gnutella in my station at work, as matter of fact i cant even download the client beacuse there is web filter (fortiguard) in the company network, there is a way i can download the client and then pass trough the firewall so my client software can connect?
Please any help i can get will be very usefull

Why are you posting for a song when your against the Gnutella network?
I myself use and recomend limewire, i've used some others and it is by far my fav, however im also trying the other clients that i have not yet tried, im having problems with Gnucleus, anyone able to help?
