"The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t stand to profit from [anti-piracy] legislation."
she was just a greedy un talented twit, I see. making money from recording? Make me laugh some more I don't think "performers" ever have.. its always been about merchandise and touring...
the recording and distribution was always just promotion. one of the reasons the internet has really kicked the music industry in the butt, no? any artist/musician can get the same distribution and promotion now. (Of course you still need the monies to really get out there and in the public's face).

Unfortunately she took down the blog, apart from the rather pointless abuse (and I don't mean the average "crap" or "talking shit" kind of abuse either) there were absolutely tons of valid and thought provoking comments on the industry. Things that, if the majors had any brains left, would take seriously.
The FAC decided "Three strikes and you're restricted" was a good enough compromise. In fact, that's just one step down from the French version of cutting people off, which they passed into law last week I believe. What is more worrying is no proof of guilt is needed, merely their word. This is obviously perfect for the UK government and their epic fail of an anti-terror law...

First of all, Allen's record label let her know that quitting music at this point in time is not an option.
Secondly, if she's out whining about copyright at the same time she's violating it, she's either a hypocrite or simply doesn't understand what she's talking about enough to know the difference. Either way, her opinion in this matter is difficult to take seriously.
What is more worrying is no proof of guilt is needed, merely their word.
That worked 30,000 times over here.
