I was just on the website of a British band, Fanfarlo, who is doing it the hard way -- not with stolen credit cards, LOL. They've started their own record label after frustrating negotiations with potential labels both before and after recording their album.

They're selling downloads of the entire record plus bonus tracks for $1 until July 1. They have some videos on YouTube. Sound? To me, like a tamer Talking Heads with more melody, less funk, and more acoustic instruments. I'll probably buy it just because I think what they're doing is cool, and the music seems more than pleasant.
