"MP3 The Movie" is a new online film that is taking the Internet by storm. The film short is a satire of the current Napster/RIAA situation, where in the near future a war on MP3s is created by the government. In only five days of release, the movie has been viewed over 12,000 times and has been reported on by CNet and TechTV.


Plot: In the year 2002, the government has outlawed MP3s and any related material, including Napster. The FBI has created a department called the MP3 Task Force to help combat illegal MP3s. The Task Force consists of two former musicians, Agent Farley, and Agent Hopkins, who together will infiltrate the MP3 black market and put an end to MP3s forever. "MP3 The Movie" was written, produced and directed by Joseph & Dylan Conner.

The film is available at filmwave.com where you can stream or download in 56k (56k modems), 256k (DSL, Cable), and 512k (DSL, Cable, T1 and higher) using RealVideo.

I think satires are only funny when they are subtle.. sounds like this one isn't. I would download it and see but my mighty 38.6 connection probably couldn't handle it. :) (Smile)

i'm half way into it right now (it's 15 minutes long), and so far it's sucked.

the picture quality and editing aren't bad, as far as homemade movies go, but the plot is really lame.
