(Big CES sign)
I walked alot today. Then I walked a lot more. I walked so much my feet will never forgive me. And then I walked some more.

(Mp3 Area)
Today was the first day of CES, one of the biggest north american technology shows. I started off by taking a nice ten minute walk from the hotel to the convention. From there, after registering I immediatly started walking the north hall. Things were going well and I was making progress, seeing new products. Just when I started getting hungry I walked into the SD (Secure Disk) pavillion a frienly PR person approached me and asked, "Are you here for the breakfast press event?" After a moment of pensive thought, I answered in the affimative and proceeded to gobble down some breakfast muffins and apple juice. The beginning of the SD presentation was the lamest thing I've ever seen. It featured a white guy and white girl rapping about the cool features of SD. The used words like "fly" and "dope"....it was tragic, I had to move on.

(Treo Again)

(Perception Digital Jukebox)

(ATL Jukebox)
The north hall had some nice mp3-CD players, but what really caught my eye was an mp3 area. There I found the
treo and a plethora of different mp3 devices including a HDD player from ATL Multimedia and Sweet looking home stereo unit from Perception Digital.

(Penn and Teller)
As I continued along the north hall, I even saw Penn and Teller! You never know who your going to run into.
The south hall was the land of the giants. The mega-corporations like Panasonic, Microsoft, Samsung and the like. These mega-corporations demonstrate their mega-wealth with mega-booths. I never liked the mega-booths. For some reason, massive crowds are always drawn to the mega-booths (perhaps in search of corporate handouts) like flies. The influx of humanity makes navigating these booths quite a chore, not to mention that because such a massive staff is needed to run the booth either some or most of the people there are not even employees of the company. I rarely manage to find someone who has a clue in the mega-booth.
Despite the crowds, because the booths take up so much space, there were fewer booths and I managed to move through the hall pretty quickly.
Dataplay was there, but I was not impressed, nothing they had worked...it was just a bunch of mock-ups.

(Ain't it Cool)
The coolest thing I saw today, by far, was a stereo system by Samsung. This stere system came bundled with a portable mp3-CD player and a portable flash player (the Yepp) both of which could be docked with the main stereo unit. All of this (stereo, mp3-CD player and portable mp3 player) will supposedly retail for $400-500. Sweeeet.
After the show, I walked to the hotel, walked to another hotel for a meeting and by the time I was done with the second meeting, my legs could take mo more and instead of going to the party I had planned, I walked back to the hotel. I took over 100 pictures today, I can't imagine how many I'll have by the end of the show!
(P.S. if my spelling or grammer is horrible, I'm too tired to care)
