Club Knowledge interview - early 2004
Posted by AlternativeAndrew in on July 20, 2008 at 1:05 AM

This is the text of an old interview - I thought it best to capture for posterity before the site gets pulled down.

A Popup Interview with Keshco
[ Artist Website ] | [ Buy Our CD ]

CK:

How did you/all learn to play, self or school?

Keshco:

My first instrument was a little Yamaha keyboard aged 9. I took violin lessons at secondary school, and started teaching myself the guitar at 14.

CK:

How many members in the band write music?

Keshco:

Both myself [Andy] and Robert write songs and music.

CK:

Let us say that you have been just signed by a major label and they say time to move 2500 miles. Now what, would you be able to move?

Keshco:

But we live in London, the capital of the Universe! Ahem.

CK:

So, tell me..what exactly, motivates you, the artist to write songs?

Keshco:

There's always that itch to be scratched. More specifically, it might be a social concern that I want to convey my opinion about, or it can act as catharsis for various kinds of feelings. The humorous pieces are just done to make us laugh.

CK:

Describe your typical stage show performance. Give us a hint into what we might expect to see are your show.

Keshco:

People pottering with instruments and homemade projections fluttering away behind.

CK:

How experienced are you or the band on the stage?

Keshco:

We've played about 20 gigs together (from 1999 to 2004).

CK:

Name and describe your most memorable gig.

Keshco:

Its name is Neville - it took place in a big city and smelled of peach.

CK:

Give us a run down of your audio equipment:

Keshco:

guitars, synthe****s, old keyboards, percussion, lots of delay pedals, novelty toys

CK:

Have you ever paid for advertising for the band?

Keshco:

NO! Some of us need to eat.

CK:

Where do you practice as a band and how often?

Keshco:

That varies, but usually in short bursts every month or so.
