Posted by RockGina in on November 17, 2000 at 3:18 PM

Monday (11/20) will be the last in a series of Mondays that saw the release of tracks from "DECISIONS OF THE SKY ~ A Traveler's Tale of Sun and Storm". "The Path" concludes the downloads of the four-song epic, and will be the last of new music from Blues Traveler until their new full-length release anticipated for March 2001.

We hope you've enjoyed the music and will continue to offer more fan-related extras in the future.

They sure are friendly! Tad dared me $50 last night if I would shave a sha pe of a black cat on my hiney. If that isn't a friend, then what it it? >Just kidding, I did it for free!Just kidding again!< Peace. I need to go visit the RuPaul website or something for this note. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I'm just. . . gonne. . . hit. . .the little "Comment!" button anyway! >meow

Great songs, but they are too long.
You sholdn't write song longer than 4 minutes and keep the long solos for the live shows

Huh? The songs should be whatever length BT choose to have them.
The singles should be 4 minutes and under.

Hey jerk.... Last time I checked, BT had a record deal and you didn't. Leave the music criticizm for someone who knows what they are talking aboutHey jerk.... Last time I checked, BT had a record deal and you didn't. Leave the music criticism for someone who knows what they are talking about. Try writing 5 4 minute songs and you’ll have about the length of “The Song and the Storm”… They’re showcasing their talent, not their ability to conform to Theodore Adorno’s model of “Easy Listening.” If you want to throw down with a musicologist in training… bring it beoch

Four minute songs? Nothing wrong with that. But are you looking for pop? Maybe BT isn't what you want. Try Britanny or Sugar Ray. I like 'em too, but let these guys do what they want. They do it well.

All you have to do is register for an account, make sure you're signed on, go to the title page, skip the intro, and click on the rocket that flies around in the background. That will take you to the download page. Easy as pie. :-) (Smile)

God, help me!!! Everytime I click the link to download it just transports me to this godforsaken page with alien characters that never finishes loading. So while everyone else rants and raves over these songs I sit at my computer listening to Traveler's and Thieves (not a bad trade off, but I'd like to hear the new songs too) So what's the deal? Do I need to download MORE high-tech Star Trek MP3 players or what?
DMemberbluzetraveler

Wizard! Don't sweat it. Hopefully you can get it from Napster. I even got 'em all early there! Hmmm, I wonder if I can e-mail songs to people as an attachment. I don't see why not.
DMembermjlm17
Date: November 24, 2000 @ 12:53 PM
Bluzetraveler: You can e-mail an mp3 as an attachment as long as your e-mail service can handle a file size that large. Most web-based e-mail only holds about a meg or so capacity, so unless you have some other way, it may not work. Good luck, anyway.

GREAT SONGS, BT!!

Depending on how your web browser is configured, it may be necessary for you to either right-click on the song link and choose "save link as...", or hold down shift and click on the link.

Download 'em, love 'em.

Now, I just need to find the lyrics somewhere.

Ok, here's the question: Who is the best Blues Traveler-esque band out there? I know Blues Traveler is unique and they are (in my opinion) the best at what they do. However, who would you put up there against them?

Answer: Uncook the Mp3's. Decisions of the sky ROCKS. To quote the man "You guys are FUCKIN EXCELLENT" Tad and ben, this is the first time I have heard any of your stuff.... I'm impressed. Keep it up.

I just hear all the four songs at once, and the only thing I can say is , they are fucking excellent as always... is amazing how good they sound .. To be honest I thought that after Bob¢¥s dead it wouldn¢¥t be the same but I realyy think that is the same even better... congratulations!! from Peru!!!!
When can I see you guys?!
DMemberBagheera98

Well, I had to go through all three of the sites they listed to get the MP3s to finally getting one that worked, but it was well worth it. I heard them perform The Path over 2 years ago in Illinois and it was awesome so I'm glad they made it into a studio version.
I thought The Sun and the Storm was just OK until a day later and I couldn't get that rythem out of my head. Thats a very catchy song.
The songs are great. I'm a little mad they didn't use my artwork for their covers (they didn't even send a rejection notice *sniff*) but the songs and the band still rule.
LONG LIVE BLUES TRAVELER!

hmmmm too long songs, i guess your probally right i mean no long singles ever do good, especially ones like hey jude and free as a bird and i dont know stairway to heaven all of those songs really sucked now didnt they im glad that noone ever hears any of that kinda music anymore i mean really down with creative intrest and the musicians choice, a long song is good for people who love music sorry if it didnt go well with your pop loving heart but for those of us who see jamming as a way into a musicians feelings keep the long comeing and jam on
DMembertrilogyjab
Date: February 6, 2001 @ 1:42 PM
Blues Traveler does not need to shorten their songs, they got started, and continue, performing as a jam band. Why change? Just to please the fickle public? That would idiotic. These guys are beyond that. What if Queen had shortened Bohemian Rhapsody? It wouldn't nearly have been the classic song that it is. Blues Traveler does NOT to go pop to please the generally moronic corporate playlist-loving crowd. They're not selling out, and they're staying true to their craft, which is far more respectable than cutting and pasting songs to sell an extra record, or to please a record label.

Please come and play some extended jams LATE into the evening at the Warfield in SF. Get loose with the format and improv. People will love it.
DMemberbtfan21

This is just another case (it's not like this happens all the time) of a band giving back to it's fan base. Dave Matthews, another band that prides itslef on live play & extended jams to showcase it's members musicianship, has been using this type of "extended jam" format to gain fans by word of mouth from it's live shows, just like Blues Traveler.

What a concept! Thank you Blues Traveler for the 4 songs. They are great. If music listeners can't dig a song because it's not under 5 minutes, they have short attention span and wouldn't get it anyway. Try watching COPS or Survivor. Those TV shows were made for you...
