Yeah I was wondering if there was any possibility of having some official printable cover art/disk art available for download, maybe even a booklet with lyrics, for the Decisions of the Sky release. I think that the imagery for this could be wonderfully done and the band may wish to add one more detail to the picture that they are painting with the music

I'm a bit confused. The above news item mentions both "continuing the story", and that these are compilations of "older and reworked" material. So is this a mini-epic or just a release of previously unreleased, live only songs that do not have a common thread?

ok, stupid question here. Is "DECSIONS OF THE SKY ~ A Traveler’s Tale of Sun and Storm" going to be the name of the new album or is it the name they chose to use for this four song release? And if it is the title of the new album, and the news post said that these songs were from the album, how come they will not be on the album when it is released? I know these are stupid questions so yell at me if you want.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! BT and the BT family are the classiest hardest working band in show business. Thanks for the new songs. Thanks for weathering the storms. Thanks for continuing to do what you guys did to the Music Farm in Charleston last night! Hallelujah! Amen! I love you guys!

Here's what I understand...
Track #1, 12 Swords, is a reworking of an old John Popper solo tune from 1991. They brought it back to be part of a concept album that was going to be recorded based on a show they did on 11-25-98.
Track #2, The Sun and the Storm, has never been played live before. However, this concept album was supposed to have the same name as this tune [based on the Aesop's fable about the Sun and the Storm competing to see who could get a wandering traveler to remove his coat] so it's a fair guess that this song was written for that album as well.
Track #3, Traveler Suite, was first played in 1996 and John had always been coy about what its destiny was to be. A year or two ago he revealed in a newsletter that it was being saved for "a special purpose" which was later revealed to be - you guessed it - the concept album.
Track #4, The Path, debuted at Red Rocks in 1998 and also follows the theme of the Sun and the Storm. In it, the traveler finds a rainbow path between the two and walks off into the distance as BT's ending to the story.
So to sum up, the songs weren't all written at the same time, but they were designed to be part of the same concept, along with several other tunes which are now not included in the EP. I'm guessing BT decided not to do the concept album without Bob, since he was so involved in writing the songs, but that they're releasing this EP sort of in his honor, to tie the past and the present together. Just my interpretation.

Jsmith has a great idea. What i'm doing is downloading the little thumbnails by the song and the large picture to the right of the songs. I'm guessing the large pics will change with the upload of a song. I'm gonna try something for myself, but it won't be a work of art. If anybody is doing one freestyle post it to the web and tell us where to get it. If BT doesn't do a cover for us, then it would be cool if the fans could. Thanks

Hello Fellow Traveler's...well the new songs are awesome! If you're interested in covers/inserts for your EP burns, then head over to bluestraveler.NET (the ultimate bt fan page) and join the BT mailing list to learn more about the songs and how to get CD covers. If you've tried to get these songs on a 56k modem and are having problems...this is the place to get help. After you join the list...post a message to the group with the subject of "Where's that fat guy, mao?" and in the body tell everybody on the group why you love Blues Traveler and I'll hook up the first ten people with a special treat.
