Cell phones destroy your brain....
Posted by Otherleflaw in on March 31, 2008 at 9:59 AM

MONDAY March 31, 2008 (foodconsumer.org) -- A comprehensive review study conducted by Dr. Vini G. Khurana and published on his website brain-surgery.us on March 20 shows convincing evidence that use of mobile phone increases risk of brain tumors and that mobile phones may be more dangerous than asbestos and smoking.

The author found those who used mobile phones for a long term would increase their risk of brain tumor on the side of the head a mobile phone is preferably used against by a factor of 2-4 folds.

Currently three billion people worldwide use mobile phones, three times higher than the number of people who smoke. Smoking kills an estimated five million a year.

Dr. Khurana, staff specialist neurosurgeon at The Canberra Hospital and associate Professor of Neurosurgery, Australian National University Medical School in Australia, reviewed more than 100 published studies and reports and concluded that electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones damages the brain and induces both benign and malignant brain tumors.

He advised that people should avoid using mobile phones whenever possible and called on the government and industry to take immediate steps, which are technically available, to reduce radiation exposure through radio-wave-based devices including mobile phones.

He predicted that "in the years 2008-2012, we will have reached the appropriate length of follow-up time to begin to definitively observe the impact of this global technology on brain tumor incidence rates" as the latency period from exposure to mobile phone radiation to diagnosis of malignant brain tumor ranges from 10 to 20 years.

Dr. Khurana said the effect of electromagnetic radiation is likely cumulative and long term and susceptibility to the magnitude of the effect may vary from person to person.

Especially he recommended the following;

1) Use a regular land-line phone instead of mobile phones'
2) When mobile phone needs to be used, turn on speaker mode and held it >20 cm away from the head;
3) Minimize use current Bluetooth devices and unshielded headphone accessories for mobile phones;
4) Reduce the time spent using mobile and cordless phones for all adults;
5) Restrict use of mobile and cordless phones by children only for emergency.

The Mobile Operators Association representing the five UK mobile phone network operators was cited as saying last week that Dr. Khurana's study is selective and not balanced and is inconsistent to the conclusion of the World Health Organization and more than 30 other independent scientific reviews.

The association between use of mobile phones and brain tumors has been studied quite extensively. Generally, short term studies did not find the link while long term studies tend to show the link, according to a health observer affiliated with foodconsumer.org.

Radio wave from mobile phones is far much stronger than the radio wave emitted from radio and TV towers, which a scientist has found is associated with higher risk of leukemia and potentially breast cancer as well. The evidence is strong enough that electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones can cause harm, according to Dr. Khurana.

Various doctors have warned about cell phones for years now. This isn't really new news. Those of you who live near/under high power lines are already aware of the ill effects on your health, not to mention the headaches, and the interference with your equipment.

Everytime a doctor shows real evidence, various companies and individuals slam him into eventual silence.

If you honestly think holding an apparatus to your head that transmitts on microwave waves is safe, then nothing on this site, and nothing anybody tells you is going to help you in the least. Your too damn stupid for your own good.

People with any sort of background in telecommunications technology already know these risks!

Rock stars were the first to adopt mobile phone, back when the phones were the size of a loaf of bread.

I never have owned a cell phone. But I still smoke.

Ironically, I made the healthier choice.

Maybe it will help me grow a second brain that I can use to talk on the phone while I do other things.

Or it could help you grow a second brain that wants to do other things when you're trying to talk on the phone.
