Here is a list of DMusic Artists' vids I have found:
(Please alert me if you know any other vids from DMusic artists at YouTube, MetaCafe, DailyMotion, MySpace, etc.!)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8FyZjlpGO5s Maria Daines "I Don't Want To Fight No More" (Hard to watch if you love animals. M&P are trying to raise awareness about cruelty to animals.)
http://www.tombarger.com/movies/crazy.mov Tom Barger (NOTE: this is a Quicktime file, NOT a "flash" vid like YouTube and the other vid sites use. You need QuickTime Player or other compatable software.)
leflaw (or it might have been tracy) reposted this item/article.
But it is still valid.
If you are a DMusic artist and have videos on the web, please provide the link.
(leflaw has been considering actually HOSTING independent music videos from DMusic to compete with YouTube/MySpace and others once the server and site upgrades etc. are all done.)
In the meantime, let's keep poking him with this and other pointy sticks!
Why MySpace vids - their audio is not mono, unlike Youtube, (albeit probably a very compressed something like 64 or 80 Kbps stereo)
These DM artists videos are highly recommended at Youtube...
Kit Rumble - a serious video master as well as an awesome musician http://www.youtube.com/user/kitrumble
Of the more well known vid hosting sites, DailyMotion currently seems to have the best audio (it's in stereo) and the video is a bit better quality too.
Revver may be worth looking into also. (They DO share ad revenue with ya folks!)
You can do a lot to enhance the quality yourself too, for example if you render your videos as higher quality mp4 with a higher bitrate audio (say 224 Kbps as in CDvideo/SVCD standard), it might take a good while longer to render the video file and take longer to upload the larger size file, than using a smaller filesize and more compressed windows media or quicktime clip but the resulting picture quality and sound will be a BIT better at Youtube/MyspaceTV or wherever, because going fastest encode or thinking medium quality and 96 Kbps audio should be fine, that's already significantly degrading your video clip (and audio contained therein) before they degrade it further by compressing it to a Flashvideo clip 4 times more compressed than your uploaded file.
But bear in mind, 100 MB is the largest file available at Youtube/MySpace, so rendering mp4 720x480 pixels at best quality with uncompressed 24 bit / 48 Khz audio (ie Standard DVD comfigurations for NTSC) will probably be way too large.
