Is this too harsh a a penalty? If they were in disagreement, maybe one of them should have moved.
I realize this was an excessive case, but.....

What about the guys in these cars that sit in front of your house blasting their music (and rattling your windows) Should they be fined? Thrown in jail for disturbing the peace? What say you?

Definitely. The use of loud music at all hours and deliberately directed at someone is not that dissimilar to verbal abuse, never mind disturbing the peace. What surprises me is how long it went on for.

as far as some @$$wipe sitting out in front of my house with a car stereo Im armed with a Stage PA
mu ha ha ha ha

so far my neighbors havent complained about my loud music. Ive gone door to door letting em all know I play guitar and if Im distrubing em to just stop by and give me a hollar. Politeness is next to neighborliness. And yes, when testing the new giant speakers I walked all four blocks that they could be cleanly heard

as far as the neighbors in the article; sounds like that had a lotta problems, the music was just one of em

a warning to people who sit in cars blaring music; be sure yer music is not louder then someone's gun ;) (Wink)

I wonder how long she would have gotten if she had been playing illegally downloaded music

"She was accused of causing insomnia and headaches to her next-door neighbor by playing loud dance music almost 24 hours a day "
