Folks, despite my previous gripes and rants,
I do not hate YouTube. (per-se)

Mark Cuban and Eric Von Lohmann's debate
over some of the issues I have concern about
is very interesting and worthy for you to
watch/comment about.
-----------------
As for me, I am unhappy that YouTube (and
the like) are prone to negotiations with the
established content industry. (Especially
after being acquired by power-house players
such as Google.)
...THOSE kind of "deals" are the quickest
way for the INDUSTRY to kill-off user
created content. (As soon as something gets
"popular" in the eyes of the public... Big
Name come buy it, take it over, marginalize
the USER CREATED content and then PROMOGATE
its' own stuff...)
mleh, y'all know the drill. mp3.com (a well
known example I like to use) got killed-off
in the same way.
------------
However, the tide MIGHT be turning a little
bit.
DRM is now a "naughty word" (Thanks to all
of YOU who CARE about these issues for
spreading the word!)
DRM is on the way out the door. Even the
INDUSTRY is starting to realize it. (Dan
Glickman wants to change the name of DRM and
make it all "interopreable" in a final
last-ditch effort to control you... but he
is full of sh*t ...as we already knew. lol)
---------
I believe that ALL of this progress is due
in part to YOU, our Boycott Riaa readers
and participants.
Sure, Boycott Riaa is not the "hottest thing
on the block" anymore insofar as media
attention (and/or even from the other
music/copyright/political blogs/sites out
there.)
But, you know what? Fuck them. WE led the
way. (And THEY know it!)
