Are not all the finalists bound to some form of an RIAA "development" contract already?

I'm willing to bet not a single one of them could quit the show, walk away and sign with an indie label or put out a recording on their own without being in violation of some clause included on papers they have already signed.

They are all already owned. Weep for them and/or scorn them.
