lol, I honestly forgot that tonight was "Grammy Awards" night. (RIAA music has become so unimportant to me.)
They say this is the 49th annual show.
Anyone think they will make it to 50?

I kept my TV channel pointed at the Grammy's long enough to watch NARAS president Neil Portnow's speech. He did the usual "music in the classroom" bit, but didn't broach the subject of "digital piracy" or any other music war stuff.
I'm kinda disappointed.
(I guess that big industry is trying to keep things on the "down-low" these days.)
watusi on 'dem bones!

Is it "The world is changing folks."
OR "The world is changing, folks."
Quite a difference on the perspective with just that one simple comma, isn't it?
I tend to take stock in the former (i.e., Shmoo, you've got your grammar right in the first place, IMHO).

...uh,
DAMN YOU pessimist. (For being a grammar nazi.)
I want the comma!
"The world is changing, folks!" (With an added THANKS to the folks who are doing tiny things to major things.)
I did NOT mean to say "The world is changing folks" (without the comma)

The english language SUCKS! (Too much ambiguity over a simple thing as a forgotten comma.)

is it
"read my lips. no new taxes."
or
"... no, new taxes."
or how about
"oww! I stuck my finger in my eye."
as opposed to
"goddamn thieving teenagers are stealing us blind'
maybe this.
"halleuja! I have seen the light!"
instead of
"would you hold that damn flashlight down here where I need it instead of in my eyes?"
ok last one
"sure would like to sleep sometime this week"
as opposed to this..
"hey you sure are a strange mutherfucker. shouldn't you be on some kinda medication?"

the only thing important that happened at the Grammy's was The Police getting back together. Haven't seen it yet, but it's been recorded for me.

Word is that it wasn't as important as it was hyped up to be.

DIXIE CHICKS HOT LICKS...
TELL YOUR GRANNY...
THEY RULED THE GRAMMYS (GRAMMIES?)...
I abhor the POLICE...
Remember, STING's real name is GORDON SUMNER...and, read what old Gordon had to say when he was remembernig those hallowed days of POLICE fame
http://bipolar.about.com/cs/celebs/a/sting.htm
"In a May 1996 interview with Live! Magazine, musician and actor Sting was quoted as saying, "Anyway, during that period with the Police, the most successful time of my life, I was suicidal. My first marriage and my relationship with the other members of the band was collapsing. I just felt adrift. I was manic-depressive and I just wasn't chemically balanced enough to enjoy it. I was out to lunch." "

My 16 year old Daughter was so excited about the Grammys being on Sunday --
That she wanted to play Scrabble (seriously).
We played 2 games -- I won one and she won the other. The Wife, Daughter, and I had a good time and the one-eyed cyclops was turned off.
Seriously though, if teenagers couldn't give a care about the Grammys, what does that say about RIAA "music"?
