Local Film Makers Tom Miller and Shawn Spencer, with Producer Mysti Meyham, have run into hot water with Cincinnati. As a part of Mysti's public cable access show, the locally produced Gainesville Movie, "Womp", offended many of the public. The movie shows two dumb thugs, portrayed by Miller and Spencer, who capture a Florida Skunk Ape and bring it into the city where it becomes a meat eating sex crazed freak after being exposed to popular culture and television.

The Cincinnati article and video appears here:

It seems the controversy is brewing, as Mysti has been asked to appear on local television for an interview, and the story was lead in the several editions of the Cincinnati TV news. This event demonstrates some of the issues that can arise with a publicly funded cable access program.

Tom Miller, Gainesville local artist/activist said the controversy was silly. "It seems Cincinnati is fine with airing moron white supremacists and their extensive use of the N word in the afternoon, but our skunk ape art-film is inappropriate? Here is our poor skunk ape getting ousted again, just like he did in the video, from the current porno of our culture."
