Your User Account

On DMusic, there are two types of accounts; Users and Artists. User accounts are the default account which contains details about you as an individual. When you register on our site, you are given a free user account. If you are an artist and want to create an account for your band or solo project, you’ll need to first create a user account.

Editing your user account
To edit your user account preferences, settings, and profile, click on the “My Dmusic” tab. Remember, if you’re "seein’ red," you’re in edit mode.

MyDM

The first thing you’ll see when you get to “MyDMusic” is an overview of your profile.
- The picture you see is your profile picture, which can be changed under the “profile” tab.
- You’ll see statistics about your activity on the site as well as your account status.
- Your Current rating is what other users have rated you as, from 1 to 5 stars. If you just joined the site, your rating will appear as “N/A” until someone rates you.
- View profile will take you to your profile, as it appears to everyone else.

Messages

This is the message center, where you will be able to send and receive notes. All incoming notes are automatically saved in your inbox, while all outgoing notes are automatically saved in your outbox. All messages marked with an “N” in your inbox are messages you have not read yet. All messages marked with an “N” in your outbox are messages that have not been read by the recipient yet.

- To filter your inbox or outbox by username or subject, fill out the “filter” field and select “filter.”
- To send a note, fill out the “To:” field with the DMusic user’s account name. “Subject” is optional. To send to multiple users, use a comma to separate names.
- To set the number of notes per page, type in a number in the field next to the “notes per page” and select “set.”

Folder Management

DMusic’s note system allows you to create folders and organize all of your notes.

2. Select “folder management”
3. You will see a text field where you can add a new folder. Type in the name of the new folder and click “Add.” Once you click the button, the folder will automatically appear in the right-side column.

2. You will see a list of your folders and an actions column.
3. Select “Edit” to change the name of the folder.

Deleting an Existing Folder

1. Select “folder management” from the right-side column
2. You will see a list of your folders and an actions column.
3. Select “Delete” to delete the folder. When deleting a folder, all notes inside that folder will be deleted. If you wish to preserve them, please move them before deleting.

Moving a note into a folder

1. Select the “messages” tab from within My DMusic.
2. Click the check box under the column “Select” of the messages you wish to move.
3. Locate the drop down menu for message settings, which is under the last note on the page. It’s defaulted on “Delete” and there is a button that says “Go!” to the right of it.
4. Select “Move to. . .” within the drop down menu.
5. A new drop down menu will appear below the one your just selected. Choose the folder you wish to move the message(s) to and select “Go!”

How You’re notified when you have new mail

1. At the top left of the screen where you see “Welcome (your username),” you’ll see in parenthesis the number of new notes you have.
2. Under the messages tab in the My DMusic section, the right-side column will indicate how many new notes you have to the right of the “inbox” link.
