Boycott Riaa Stickers are Magick!

IW News - 2006 08 03
Strange but true these stickers seem to possess the power of extending equipment life, and keeping your musical equipment running at top notch preformance!
Quite some time ago Dmusician Insane Wayne donated a few dollars and recieved a few anti-riaa stickers. Because he rarely played cover tunes he stuck one on his little stage PA, a 1978 Peavey XR700 bought used. This old PoS PA never once messed up, altho' it never left the house either. In June of '05 Insane Wayne purchased new PA equipment, a PV10 mixer, a PV 215 EQ and a PV 1500 power amp. The mixer and power amp got the last two stickers and the stickerless EQ had to be returned for warrenty work. Coinscience? Insane Wayne also put an anti-riaa sticker on a dying 19" monitor, given to him free because it would flash green every so often. It has not flashed once since the sticker was placed! "This has nothing to do with it being grounded now" claims the great Insane One.
How does this Magick work? Experts believe it has to do with Good Karma and Bad (riaa) Karma. An example of Good Karma is donating to a worthy cause, an example of Bad (riaa) Karma includes subjecting your musical equipment to Sellouttica mp3s. It will be interresting to see the results of Insane Wayne's study of the effects of these stickers with other Dmusicains.
One can recieve Boycott-Riaa stickers by donating for the new Dmusic/Boycott-Riaa internet servers or (hopefully) by subscribing to Dmusic.com

Disclaimer: altho' a humorous parody "news" article, it's true. The EQ went for repairs and everything else hasn't messed up yet! btw, The Instrumental Music Store in downtown Ludington is a great Peavey shoppe and stood behind it's warrenty with no problems at all :)

I've got a Les Paul that absolutely refuses to stay in tune.

It's worth a try. Stranger things have happened.

Dad bought a Peavey XR700 (same as InsaneWayne's) a couple of years ago on an online auction. It never got used until recently, when I tested it. The outputted sound was distorted. Maybe I should donate, apply a sticker and see if the sound gets better.

I've got a Laney VC50 guitar amp with contact problems on the input jacks, I hope a sticker will help ;) (Wink)
