CriticalCodger, she actually WAS front page news for quite a while, first in France where she comes from, and then all over Europe. IMO, she's the reason why no one in Europe ever gave a flying f*** about Britney and the likes (and I don't blame them). Sadly, not too many around here in the U.S. have heard of her, probably because of our attitude towards French lately. Her music is pretty good actually; little immature though, but still good.

Anyways, she disappeared from the public eye about a year and a half ago after she got married and got pregnant. But recently, she did put a note out that she's working on a new album, so maybe she'll be back soon.

Her name is Alizee for the curious minds who want to look her up. There are some high-quality videos of her out there if you look real hard.

Madonna will surely be pissed about this one. BTW, this performance was some time in June 2003, wasn't Madonna busy recording her infamous "What the f*** you think you're doing?" MP3 around that time? While I was never too fond of French, I think that this chick beat Madonna at her own game.
