I'm sceptical about this... according to a book I read a while ago about him, his manuscripts had been lost. Surely they would have released recordings before now if they had them. I worry this is a fraud aiming to cash in on the current Da Vinci phenomenon.
However, if it is genuine... great. Going to listen now. Groovin

Recordings? 400 years before electricity?

No.. recordings of his music. The "them" I referred to were his manuscripts. Meaning if they were in existence surely they would have been recorded sooner by someone else.

Da Vinci was meant to be a decent musician, but considered music the lowest of all the arts and so mainly ignored it.

He left, like, a phrase or two in his writings, but not a proper composition of any sort.

And frankly, what he did leave was pretty crap.

Leonardo Da Vinci also almost got prosecuted for Sodomy
http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/artists/leonardo-da-vinci/
"At age 24, da Vinci was formally charged with sodomy, although nothing ever came of it. The charge, that is."
http://www.crystalinks.com/davinci.html
"In 1476, he was accused anonymously, along with three other men, of sodomy with a 17 year-old model, Jacopo Saltarelli, who was a notorious male prostitute. After two months in jail, he was acquitted because no witnesses stepped forward. For some time afterwards, Leonardo and the others were kept under observation by Florence's Officers of the Night - a kind of Renaissance vice squad, charged with suppressing the practice of sodomy, which a majority of male Florentines engaged in, as shown by surviving legal records of the Podestá and the Officers of the Night.
