When you hear Diane Jessurun sing, you can’t help but be captivated by her voice. although Influenced and inspired by a variety of artists and musical genres, Diane has managed to develop a sound all her own. At the age of 15 she picked up a guitar and started experimenting with songwriting, and after discovering the beautiful voice of Tori Amos she was inspired to sing as well. She studied voice on and off for 6 years with a private vocal coach, took some writing and music theory classes and started to study the styles and techniques of some of her favorite artists. She became the lead vocalist for a contemporary jazz, samba, blues and pop cover band, proving that she has the flexibility in her voice to perform all types of music very well. Diane refuses to categorize herself into one genre of music, and rightfully so. Whether singing to trip hop/electronica, jazz or hip hop instrumentation, to name a few, she has the ability to move you with her powerful, melodic voice.
