Sometimes I think I post too many threads at any given time.
Would it be better if I just put most stuff "In The News" and only posted on the "front-pages" the things that I myself happen to have a reply/response/comment of my own too add?
Should I only post 4 or 5 new threads every couple of days?
I never am able to predict which of the stories/articles/news-items are gonna garner YOUR responses. (Don't EVER forget that it is YOUR replies and comments that keep this whole "Boycott-Riaa" thing worth-while. The news/articles themselves are NOTHING except "talking points" to us. It is the TALKING that matters!!!)
What articles and what kinda stories should I post? I think I post too many sometimes. (Am I wrong? Is it better to throw out a bunch and see what "sticks"?)
I try to stay within certain boundries of what I think most of our readers/participants want to know, but should I limit (or even INCREASE???) the front-page items? Should I put more things "In The News" instead?
Give me some ideas/opinions. Sure, I am the admin/mod, but this is really YOUR site beyond that. Although I have a lot of "power" about what appears here at Boycott-Riaa by the happen-stance of being the site's admin, it does not mean that this site is my own personal blog!!! (I hope I have never gave that impression.)
Boycott-Riaa is a FORUM of/for those who choose to participate first and foremost!

It would be nice if you could bring that last thread about Ray Beckerman's blog to the forefront again. The news about
Sony BMG suddenly pulling out of two legal actions has very interesting implications. I think it dropped too quickly
out of sight. P2Pnet hasn't even made
mention of it yet.
I was VERY surprised at the lack of commentary.

Hey Shmoo. I'd have to say no... I think posting general news is a good thing. I personally… personally… care for more direct news than talking-head stuff. But, I’m sure most visitors don’t feel likewise so you’re good with everything dude.

I want to talk about one of the most under-rated formats of all time,8-track tapes. I use to hate these thinks and sometimes I still do. You can't beat 8-tracks for the amount of music that was released over those years and you can still find um cheap if you look hard enough. You know getting music nowdays is no fun. The cost of CD is a joke and with the big boys playing big brother and trying the rule the internet and telling you what to do, finding and listening to 8-tracks gets more and more attractive. If your old enough, you can remember going out and actually buying your music at a record store, Gibsons, , TG&Y, K-mart, Wal-mart, Peaches, and on and on. But if your young, memories like that don't mean anyting to ya. I hope to see more stuff about 8-tracks on here. That would be so cool. So in the mean time, keep on trackin!

Seems to me you're doing a great job Mike.
After the first page though consider ranking by activity (posts added), might make things more interesting.
Anyway thx 4 yer efforts, we appreciate them.

I grab most the stories on rss. I don't check 'in the news' ever.

I prefer this site, boycott-riaa, to be focused on RIAA and/or similar music industry issues. Sometimes articles fall of the front page to quickly, but when Mike was out, things did stagnate. For regular news, I go elsewhere, where that is their focus. Summaries could be shortened allowing more headlines to remain on the front page perhaps.

To paraphrase an Eleanor Roosevelt quote, do whatever you think is best because people are going to criticize no matter what you do.

So, minor tweaks and details aside, most of you seem to be saying: "keep on trucking" so far as the number and frequency of front page items.

I kinda like the idea (as we have been doing) of posting a batch of front-page items every few days and giving folks time to reply to the articles (if they so wish to do so) before posting another batch.
