It is so frustrating when we try to feature someone we like who may have just joined the site and uploaded a few tracks, but without a bio and picture. BIG MISTAKE. We simply can't feature you without a Bio and images.

To upload a bio:
Go to "My DMusic"
Click "Artist Edit"
Click "Bio"
Fill out your full bio (which appears on your artist bio page) or short bio (which appears on the artist overview page) and press Update


To upload an image:
Go to "My Dmusic"
Click "Artist Edit"
Click "file manager"
Click "Upload files"
Select the image from your hard drive, give it a title, then click "Begin Upload"


To set an avatar for your band or artist account: (this is the image associated with the featured artists on the main page. if you don't set it, we'll set it for you)
Go to "My Dmusic"
Click "Artist Edit"
Click "file manager"
Locate the image you want for your avatar.
Click "properties"
Click "Set as artist avatar"

BTW, try rotating gifs and jpegs, which can be built in photoshop and other graphics programs

Yes Sham. I think the reason being is that it's far too much trouble.

Funny how DMusic will take the time to "like" someone's music who has "just joined the site" and want to feature them. Then figure that, even in their noobness, they'll stumble upon this single thread and realize what they need to do... Rather then, let's say, send them a simple note stating:
"We'd like to feature you, but can't do so until you post some artist/band bio and a picture".

I agree somewhat with BOTH sides of this issue.

The artist's here SHOULD put forth more effort and throw on pics/bio and the etc. when they have obviously "good" music that Dmusic might want to feature on the front page.

...but, I also see the reverse side of the story. When Dmusic finds tunes they want to feature (because they want the "good" tunes in order to make Dmusic look good) ...then Dmusic should be willing to put forth enough effort to contact the artist directly and tell them to provide the required pics and info/whatnot.

(Sorry leflaw, but I see that something like this should be a cooporation/collaboration between Dmusic and the artist more-so than just a "privilege" to the artist to be featured. EVERY ARTIST HERE has ALREADY done the deed of providing their content.)

(But, again on the "other hand", you artists who are too lazy to put up a brief bio and a couple of pics/images should be ashamed of yourselves. I can see why leflaw does not feel like it is HIS duty to have to take the time and bend over backwards for you just because he came across your tunes and happened to like them enough to consider PROMOTING your ass!)

Maybe we could put a link or a summary of the tips in our help section (I can't find one at present) - that way nobody has any excuse that they can't find the info. Many artists are not very good at being their own publicist so if the info is easy to find, then the ball is firmly in their court.

I'd like to be featured but I'm so godamned fugly that putting a picture of me on would not get FDA approval
