Maybe its not that some people will not like the new logo or layout, because at first glance I didn't either. But maybe its more along the lines of people are used to the old look and feel. I know I am. And i'm sure you'll get quite a bit more challenges to this.
My preference would be to fix the things that are wrong instead of redesigning what already works. Need some ideas? Look in the forums under complaints.

... On first impressions I like it Looks neat. Up to date. Like all the changes that have happened here in my time, they jarred at first but I soon got used to them. Now it's hard to remember what the site looked like when I arrived!
As far as I'm concerned it's 9 hours well spent

I for one it , Not that I feel anything is wrong with the way it is now!
I do think a fresh new look (more up to date with whats out there on the net will help atract and keep those new Listeners and Artist alike.
My only concern would be any lag/slowness to it, as I am sure there are MANY still out on Dial-up and even that fake DSL SBC-Yahoo
Is the code writes as to give any choise to the back gnd color of the page That would sure be nice I like just Black
Looks Good and great job!

Looks very good. Couple of requests...please, please, please retain a list of the most recently uploaded tracks...it's the only way some artists get any promotion. Also, using mixposure.com as an example, their page (due to its layout/content) takes ages to load for those on a slow connection, and I know this often puts people off visiting. So maybe the technical people here can ensure the page is kept simple and loads as quickly as possible.

It looks great. I'm not crazy about the grey color.
I like the navy blue that we're using now.
Also, I think that the news window is a bit large.
I think the featured artist area should be larger.
I don't see the use of the events calendar.
Besides that I don't see any problems with it.

My eyes keep going back to the top of the "d". What's going on there? I'm not referring to the nifty little satellite paths; I'm talking about the odd angle of the top of the ascender (which doesn't appear to relate to any other angle in the logo) and the beak or hook on the right edge.
Of much greater importance, I think, is the idea of burying the forum link. I'll take whatever you give me and be happy for it, but I have to question the wisdom of hiding away one of the things that really sets DMusic apart- one of the most useful, friendly, fun forums on the Net.

Oh I like!!! I like, I like, I like!!!
I agree that the "d" is a little bit of an awkward shape and it looks a little odd that DMcharts is caps but not the other links to either side. But besides those minor things, it really does look new and updated and cool as cool can be!
And yes, bring the Forums back, no site is complete without a Forum.

Niiiice! I like the darker blue better than the current lighter one; easier on the eyes. I agree with everyone about the Forums link though; without that link people visiting for the first time may not dig deep enough to find it without it being in their face and may not stick around as easily. Otherwise I like it

This is flippin' awesome!
The only thing I have to say is:
Keep the font of the original logo, it totally puts this new font to shame.
Also, even if we don't switch up the whole look... I think we DEFINITELY need those "new music, top downloads, DM Charts, Featured Artists" links/tabs... DEFINITELY

I see no problem with putting the "forums" under the "community" tab...
HOWEVER, since Dmusic would be NOTHING compared to any of the other indie music sites were it not for our community & interaction, maybe it would be a good idea to make the "community" tab stand out a little somehow?
FOSTER our community! That should always remain goal #1!

I think it looks awesome. I'm all for it, but I have to agree with the others, the color choosing option would be a nice luxury, but not necessary by any means, and as far as the 'forums' 'community' thing goes, I think WE all would know, as we're users and familiar with the site, but having a link right to the forums there on the front page would be handy, as well as helping new users and casual browsers to find them... and I think making it easy for new people to find the best parts of the site like that would def. help get more users, which would hopefully mean more subscribers and more money... we need that "forums" link!

Why? I would hate having to log in every time I visit a site, and I seriously dislike most sites that force logins at every visit. Even with opera's "wand" feature it's still extra bandwidth for loading the page twice.
About the layout: I really like it. A lot. Except for the tabs. They look too... windows xp tabbey or something... I don't know.

My I like the layout, the colors, the catagories. I try to interpret what I see in the first glance that lasts maybe a second or so.. and in the logo in the top left corner, I like the font-lettering, but the background looks to me like some sorta whipped cream. howzabout something graphic that looks more musical or electronic or something. Seems to me that I saw some excellent renederings of the dmusic logo around this site in the past. Overall, tho, I like it.

A little extra detail around the buttons, customisable colour/background, a different font on the logo (although its not too bad anyway ) ....
As long as it adapts to the many different screen resolutions, it looks cool to me
Change... is inevitable. Embrace it.
