Audio's "Band in the Box" to play music and community college with has earned him infamy and fame in news articles documented on his personal webpage. Although he has attended two community colleges and somewhat accomplished his musical and college career there, he may be remembered for the community colleges he went to, but refused to accept and attend. But there were fun times along the way, as Patrick "Audio" Lew just recently returned to City College of San Francisco (CCSF).
A long-time musician playing music in his band Audio Rage, Patrick started his own musical project Audio Rage, a local Bay Area organization of musicians that could also boast future CCSF and Skyline College students such as Eddie Blackburn (AKA the Rising Legend), Zack Huang and David "Knuckles" Arceo. When Patrick decided to go to college, he was invited in the spring of 2004 to participate in CCSF Phelan/Ocean's college campus to "try out."
He went onto to study music, computers and electronic art at City College of San Francisco and filled out his online college application to go to CCSF in August 2004.
On August 17, 2004, he made his community college debut as he became good friends with his classmate in the Asian American Studies classroom, Zack Huang. He and Zack were close musician buddies, and played music in Patrick's one-man band Audio Rage on MIDI keyboards. He and Zack would spend the next few months studying at CCSF's community college campus in smaller events before Patrick Lew decided he wanted to "fit in" with the CCSF college crowd.
Patrick would take some time off from City College of San Francisco playing music in his band Audio Rage and setting up his music profile on various music webpages such as PureVolume.com. He also had personal hardships to face, as he became estranged with his then-girlfriends Mikko and Amy in love & romance relationships. But music and college was what Patrick was focusing on in his career.
Patrick returned to CCSF, and teamed with his best friend Zack. After working their way around the community college rankings, Patrick and Zack crossed paths with the Band Geeks club, a right-wing music club of Chinese rock musicians on campus. Roland Wong was the head of this music club and invited Patrick Lew to join while Zack didn't. What occurred was a series of bad moments (as Patrick wrote on his Audio Rage Band journal) where he wasn't allowed to perform or play music in any of the big events at CCSF on campus. Two embarassing experiences, one at Talent Quest 2004 and Ori-Wave 2004 saw Patrick ending up not getting Anne Wong (a girl he met at these CCSF community college events) as his girl and being taken advantage of by the Band Geeks club.
Patrick and Zack remained a huge team but by early 2005, each community college student began to be pushed on their own in CCSF's college division. Patrick began taking an American Music History class, but ended up getting rejected by two of his classmates Annie Tran and Jenna Andrews at the community college and on Audio Rage's music profile on the social-networking website MySpace.com. Patrick then aligned himself in CCSF Phelan/Ocean community college's political scene, as Patrick had to "take sides" with either the ISO or the Sparticists. When he was blackballed by Martin Smith to join the Spariticists, he was a member of both political groups at the time, the ISO ended up kicking him out of the CCSF community college's political stable. Politics was a hobby of Patrick's to get into the social circle at CCSF, but it did not work out.
While fighting to survive community college life at CCSF, Patrick and his one-man band Audio Rage headed to the music store and Audio Rage's musical workshop to record demo versions for the music to Audio Rage's third (and upcoming) album, "Revenge." He recruited some session musicians from an ad in the paper or trying to get his good friend Eddie Blackburn to play music (i.e. guitar) when making the music and band.
In the summer of 2005, back at CCSF, Patrick began a short-term relationship with his classmate from Psychology class Hiroko Yunami. One memorable afternoon on June 24, 2005 at the community college, Patrick was hanging out with his Math E3 classmate Rachel...In a romantic date sort of way. This community college experience at CCSF marked the first "official" moment where Patrick Lew had a White girl in his love & romance life...Although Rachel and Patrick never dated or were in a relationship together at CCSF or this community college campus.
Patrick Lew continued to compete in CCSF until late 2005. He began to tease a HEEL turn when his frustrations with getting rejected by women in his personal life began to happen in community college. In September 2005, he was linked with his good buddy Alvin Villarente in CCSF/community college storylines. However on October 22, 2005, Patrick Lew and CCSF mutually agreed to part ways. At the time, Lew said he was more interested in a career in music. However, Patrick would tour other smaller colleges...Including setting up his own music school again, School of Audio Rage over the next few months...Before signing with Skyline College in November 2005.
With a college application that promised a better social life and education to his resume, Patrick Lew wasted little time earning the attention of the school, of who, along with David "Knuckles" Arceo, formed a notorious circle of friends at Skyline College in San Mateo's community college with various Skyline kids to live a "party hard" lifestyle on campus. Besides brawling with Skyline College students like Aaron Cheng and Dino Machete, Patrick Lew began teaming up with David Arceo and John Lim before finally getting his "shot" at getting a girlfriend/wife in February 2006.
Although Shannon Misfud and Patrick Lew were in the Writing 826 class together, they soon began to develop a short-term alliance as friends. Patrick apparently had a crush on Shannon, but she had a boyfriend. Although Patrick's love life was on the rocks, him and Arceo were in Reading 826 class together doing book report assignments and reading music magazines to complete the course. Patrick, also played music with his friends Anthony and Marian at this community college and talked about forming a rock band. However, while Lew's time at Skyline College was filled with good moments, he never quite accomplished much during his tenure at this community college compared to CCSF despite living the "high life."
Patrick and David also attended Skyline College's big event, a musical performance and concert featuring local Bay Area rap artists and DJs such as Mac & AK playing music in the community college's bigger college events at Skyline, on February 18, 2006.
Unfortunately, Patrick's time at Skyline College didn't last long in his college career. In late February of 2006, Patrick had major disputes with the community college's faculty and his real-life enemy Aaron Cheng, whom Aaron was putting moves on his crush Shannon. Patrick had signed a college application that allowed him to leave whenever to go to another community college. A "locker room" fight with Aaron Cheng, which Aaron actually did "steal" Shannon Misfud away from Patrick at the community college and ruined his chances of having a love prospect in his love & romance life, was brutal. It led to Patrick being suspended from Skyline College, and he would never appear in Skyline's community college again. On March 10, 2006, Patrick left Skyline and their community college in disgust over an event known as the "Skyline Screwjob."
Lew would however, make a few more appearances for Skyline College's CSM house shows in April and May before dissapearing again. This time, he would reappear at CCSF for his college career. Although he is expected to reform with Zack in his community college's circle of friends at City College, so far Patrick has been linked with various college storylines with his friends Paris Fields, Rocky Chan and others when doing community college social activities on campus.

Band in the Box and Asian musician in his one-man musical group and band Samurai Sorcerers, Patrick Lew! This is the band Samurai Sorcerers II.
Audio (AKA Patrick Lew) enrolled at City College of San Francisco studying music and media/electronic arts, there was the school where Patrick Lew studied music and electronic arts, and made a concerted most unsuccessful effort to fit in socially with other students. Working a part-time job at a comic book store, he barely had enough money to survive in purchasing new instruments at the local guitar store.
By this time, the 19-year old Patrick Lew was working steadily with a local group, Samurai Sorcerers, whose repertoire was a combination of garage band punk originals, and G3/Steve Vai "concert oriented" guitar virtuoso numbers. They mostly did a combination of Nirvana, Blink-182, Steve Vai, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Oasis Guns N' Roses, Poison and other '80s and '90s mainstream rock groups, recalled many people who've seen the band perform in their garage. Then, Patrick Lew was starting to discover the complexity and unique ways of making music through a PC computer, digitial recording and music programs. Sometimes, he would place "musician wanted" ads on Craigslist.org to see if anyone can take the opportunity to play music with Samurai Sorcerers inside Patrick's studio or playing music through a gig onstage.
Despite his recollections of being a misfit, Patrick Lew did manage to make a few new friends at City College. Patrick Senter, at the time a 21-year old musician in one of Patrick's electronic media courses, played guitar with him one evening. His other friends included Jason Low, an aspiring 27-year old musician majoring in music as well. But his closest friend during his college years at City was a creative and intelligent intellectual by the name of Bruce "Zack" Huang. The two shared similar interests in film and music and eventually became good friends and musician buddies. Patrick didn't had female friends at City College, until he came back to community college at age 21. Patrick was so intent on getting a girlfriend at the time, all attempts to meet that special one at City College failed. But he did date a Japanese girl he met at a Samurai Sorcerers concert named Yoshiko Kuwamoto briefly in 2005. Some of his later romance & relationships included abusive long-distance girlfriends he met off MySpace.com (a website Patrick had grown to hate because of melodrama).
Patrick was doing social activities outside the school by doing gigs and making music on a PC and guitar and having equipment shipped to his bedroom. Patrick lived very close to City College, and took the 43 MUNI bus there on occasions. Patrick had then grew a deep affinity for electronic music, primarily because of his bandmates Eddie and Shawn from Samurai Sorcerers doing an ongoing touring group, Logic's Enemy. He was tinkering and experimenting with computer programming, and played a lot of keyboards. He was probably one of the few musicians to own a limited edition Epiphone Les Paul guitar with the slick 1962 HOT WHEELS Car design, which he bought at Guitar Center for 200 bucks. Although Patrick was studying electronics at City College, he was already a semi-intermediate computer programmer, and was very adept with learning how to experiment with music on computers or keyboard instruments. He also downloaded several computer applications from the internet to "make his music."
By the end of Patrick Lew's first year at City College, he had decided to put his academic efforts on the backburner in order to focus on his musical career. Unfortunately, he didn't attend City College to finish his education again until the summer of 2006. He was also depressed and suicidal, after a recent breakup with an online girlfriend and the recent "falling out" with his bandmates and close high school friends Eddie and Shawn in Samurai Sorcerers. The Samurai Sorcerers would not play another gig or musical performance until the spring of 2006, and was jamming with each other endlessly with Patrick's friend Zack on keyboards in Eddie's house in the Marina district in San Francisco, which was a 1 1/2 hour MUNI bus ride back to Patrick's house in the Excelsior district in the other side of the city. Patrick, Eddie, Shawn and Zack got together to play music with the typical two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards ROCK ENSEMBLE, but the efforts to create a new album failed for the group as different personalities of band members and etc.
After the demise of the original version of the Samurai Sorcerers musical group in August 2005, the NEW Samurai Sorcerers project began...Sometimes referred to as Audio Rage in the bandname. It was Samurai Sorcerers II, a one-man musical group and band version as talented musician Patrick Lew revised many of his musical work in his catalog for a future "Anthology" CD boxed set that tells the story of the local Daly City J-Rock band and the music itself. Samurai Sorcerers II published 2 albums in 2006 via internet through their webpage, "Band of Asians, Live!," taken from a May 8, 2006 Samurai Sorcerers musical performance & concert at a small music school near Patrick's house using guitars and computers. And the demo versions of the music for the album "Revenge."
Placing various ads in online music papers to look for musicians to join the garage band's ever-changing roster, but to no avail. Towards the end of that year, Samurai Sorcerers was revised as a one-man band (musical group with one constant member). But Patrick Lew received lots of computer music software from his buddy Zack whenever Patrick dropped by his condo which was a five minute walk to Geneva-Mission where Zack lived. He was traveling a lot back and forth in Asia. Patrick and his friend Zack hanged out a lot as well. Every now and then, Patrick and Zack would show up in computer and guitar shops looking for "virtual" garage band software for Patrick's computers as a guide to making his art.
Zack left the Samurai Sorcerers II/Audio Rage band camp in early 2006 to focus more on community college to pursue a film career, the musical activities for the revised version of the one-man band was left for Patrick Lew. He made all the music on a computer application, and played music for two major gigs...A couple at his community college for CCSF as a "starving musician and artist." And one that was taped for a live album at Vibo Music Center on May 8, 2006 with back-up musicians he met through social-networking website MySpace's musicians classified ads.

Band of Skyline Asian Musicians! School of Audio / Skyline's music club. Computers, MIDI, Asian friends from Skyline College, and mainly the rock & roll project of a computer and Skyline College AZN kids!

Band of Skyline AZN Musicians - The Roots & History
School of Audio (or Audio Rage) is Patrick Lew’s current new musical project, which he formed right after Samurai Sorcerers breakup in August 2005 with computers and musical instruments he picked up or rented from Guitar Center. Joining him was his college friend Zack Huang (who had a short run as Samurai Sorcerers MIDI keyboardist in May) on keyboards. Zack was a big help for Patrick in getting computer applications and setting up a studio in Patrick Lew’s bedroom at home. Sadly, Zack left School of Audio to focus more on college and a film career. Soon, a few Samurai Sorcerers websites evolved into Audio Rage ones.
Usually at school, music played a big education role in the life of Patrick Lew, David Arceo and others at Skyline. At the college cafeteria, the two used the internet on the computers over there to check out Patrick's musical work with Audio Rage...And sometimes after school, the circle of friends hang around Serramonte Mall in Daly City. Patrick often went inside the music store and Hot Topic as a hangout.
Although Patrick Lew knew who future Band of Asians group member Augusto Hernandez was, the two never hanged out during Patrick's time at Skyline.
As School of Audio, Patrick’s time at Skyline College showcased a way for him to play more gigs in public. He got rid of his Silent Minister nickname because he didn’t want to hurt the faith of his best friend Shannon Misfud (who is Catholic) and she and his other friend David “Knuckles” Arceo from Skyline gave Patrick Lew the nickname Audio after his new band. Patrick and David were School of Audio at the time, but other friends joined along to play music at the college.
When Patrick left Skyline, he and David remained close. He and David began creating music together in April 2006, the new Audio Rage song “Night Vision” was one of them. 8 new musical ideas and sketches became 8 possible songs for School of Audio’s album “Revenge.” Some essential websites to the band is their MySpace profile. But musical dreams and connections came straight out of this college, and the musicians of Asian race and creed knew music and garage band fun was the answer to life's toughest problems.
So slightly that when the band of Asian rockers formed in early 2006 at Skyline College, the schools Asian kids had a musical and personal connection within the group. Audio (born Patrick Lew, November 15, 1985; guitar, keyboards) only went to Skyline for school for a few months, but was in Knuckles (born David Arceo, March 15, 1987; turntables, MC) reading class and became very close friends. In this Band, Audio and Knuckles formed the Band of AZN Musicians first. When Audio was expelled from Skyline College in April 2006, he would soon meet Augusto Hernandez (born January 12, 1986; bass) on the popular networking site MySpace.com, and got an e-mail to start a Band.

The bandname Band of Skyline AZN Musicians was random. It was actually a musical experiment and idea where each of the boys from Skyline made music as serious amateurs or for fun. While Audio and Knuckles were close friends, usually going to the City of SF to play video games at the PlayStation store or when at Audios house, making electronic music through a computer and iPod turntables. Augusto came later on in the group and band club when Audio and him had an idea for a band practice, which eventually became the Bands first live performance (even though it was at Audios bedroom), first demo of their music together and the Band of AZN Musicians from Skyline doing an imaginary show.
Recently, when Patrick Lew reestablished connections with his college musician friends from Skyline College on MySpace.com, he and an old friend from that school formed the musical group Band of Skyline Asians, which features musicians that are Asian and students of Skyline College, and on May 7, 2006; the Skyline Asians got into School of Audio's studio to record five MP3 songs for a self-titled live EP. The Skyline Asians features Patrick Lew, David "Knuckles" Arceo and Augusto Hernandez...Which the musicians from Skyline agreed to make music together.
