Dmusic's Multiple Artist Account Non-Subscriber Crackdown
Posted by ElectronicVan in on May 24, 2005 at 2:54 PM

Due to the growth of our community and the desire to keep subscription costs low, we are going to begin inactivating multiple artist accounts for all non-subscribers. We ask that if you are in this group, please contact myself or the nearest admin and beg for mercy...just kidding. We will do our best to accomodate artists, but at the same time we need to address our constantly increasing bandwidth costs.

As stated, this is effective for non-subscribers only, meaning that if you have multiple accounts and have been debating where or not to subscribe - jump on in, the water is fine!

Although I run the Boycott-Riaa website which is graciously HOSTED by Dmuisic and I personally don't want anyone to be "limited" I certainly can understand if leflaw and Dmusic need to do a little "sping-cleaning."

1) If you are uploading "sh*t" (and you yourself KNOW it is "sh*t") please, delete it!

2) If you are uploading copyrighted material (for whatever reason, NO I am NOT talking about covers... I am talking about BLATENT "rip-offs" of other peoples sound recordings) --You SHOULD be shot in front of a firing squad! (The rest of you would be suprised how often this sorta thing tries to happen!)

3) Dmusic is NOT trying to limit you if your old band broke up and now you got a new one! YES, your old band can still have a page, AND your new one can too! (But PLEASE contact the Dmusic hosts to let them know "what's what" in that sort of situation!")

4) Don't fear! (Unless you are ABUSING!)

If you NEED more than one page here at Dmusic, PLEASE tell them WHY at http://www.dmusic.com/contact

(The stuff that DON'T need featured and is therefore taking up all the bandwidth at Dmusic what is hurting things!)

Dmusic WANTS you here if you are a creative/active music artist! (We just want rid of the trash stuff to save $$$ to make room for more of the GOOD!)

(Dmusic is huge, and has SOME "automated" functions... but overall, the site itself is HUMAN OPERATED!)

well for me its a matter of having my credit card cancelled due to theft somewhere else so i had to unsuscribe. once my bank clears a deposit into paypal i can resuscribe if paying with just funds from paypal is allowed.

although i dont have more than one account because i felt from the start it would go down a naughty naughty road.

and for the people who have a non-suscription, you still get alot of space for not sucribing compared to something like soundclick hehe.

Yes, I pay for stuff with Paypal all the time, never had problems with it. Even made donations to web sites with it.
