One format for digital music? --P2p.net

(I'd go along with it if the format were "open-source" like Ogg-Vorbis for example :) (Smile)

Broadband generation prompts MTV to launch online Overdrive network --Revolution

MTV launches online video channel --Computer Business Review

(I wonder if they will actually show videos instead of stupid shows like "Jack-ass" and "Real World". Doesn't matter I guess because you KNOW the vids would all be DRM infected "RIAA only" anyways.)

Canadian copyright petition lodged --p2p.net

Canadians are starting to fight back as the Big Music cartel tries to turn the country into a chatel. MP Peter Julian has given parliament a petition which makes it clear that users are demanding to be 'meaningfully consulted' about proposed changes to the copyright act.

Combs to Pay $21,00 a Month Child Support

Look at the exhorbitant amounts of money these artists put out for alimony, etc...if they can afford fees like this, the record industry must be paying them pretty darn good from the money they are making from selling their wares.

Maybe P Diddy should consider getting himself "fixed". It would be cheaper for everyone.

MGM is no more?

Doesn't that put some kind of crimp in MGM v Grokster? Can you win a court case even if you don't exist and the people that bought you out support the other side?

Oh, wait. This is America. Inanimate objects own copyrights and the authors own nothing, including their name.
