Come join DMusic members and staff for dinner and discussion on April 9th at Dave & Buster's on the Philadelphia waterfront. Everyone's invited!
That's right, we're having our first informal gathering to discuss topics that concern the community most. Topics ranging from the state and future of the music industry, artists' and consumers' rights, who's got the chops, going digital, DMusic's horizon, independent versus major labels - you name it and it's on the table!
The party starts around 4pm, April 9th, and goes until whenever. Bring dancing shoes, quarters (I hear this establishment has a couple of games you can play...), ideas, and most importantly - your smiles! Let's get acquainted and start making plans for the future of music!

Someone PLEASE take a laptop and be logged into Boycott-Riaa chat so those of us who can't physically be there are able to participate too!

I have an idea. Why don't Dmusic, and Boycott-Riaa folk across the country (and around the world) start hosting these sort of gatherings locally. We could always reach out to members of the other music sites (IUMA, Garageband, etc.) and to other music/copyright issue sites (eff.org, downhillbattle, publicknowledge.org, etc.) to find enough local folks to attend.
I think I'll plan one for the East Tennessee area in a month or so.

This is an informal gathering geared towards those that are nearby. Save your $$ for plane tickets for when we do our first, large-scale gathering.
That said, anybody that can make it out on the nineth, do it! DM makes a good digital community, but folks need to start coming together in reality to start making big things happen. We need your voices, your ideas, your passion, and your efforts if we're going to make decent change in the music industry.
