Posted by Reggaepopcicle in on December 29, 2004 at 1:15 PM

Effective January 4th, DMusic Dub prices are being reduced for CDs and customized case inserts. On top of that, shipping and handling prices will be reduced 10 to 40 percent!

HOORAY! The "price" issue was the only downside I saw anyway! If we can somehow get the cost of releasing a CD down to about $2, we will have a true winner!

...in other words:

Let's figure out a way to have the fan/consumer be able to buy a CD from a dmusic/dub artist for $10 or so and the ARTIST/BAND gets to pocket a few bucks AND the actual manufacturer of it ALSO make a fair proffit!

I think we COULD do it, EVEN with very short runs...

Let's REALLY turn the tide on the rest of the money grubbers who are in the music biz.

Let's make the COST/RISK for an artist/band entering the commercial CD market independently ONLY great songs on quality disks if we can.

...in other words, artist/band pays manufacturer material/labor costs and a small proffit. But they SHARE the proffit from the consumer... BUT THE PROFFIT from the consumer is NOT highway robbery to that consumer!

(Disks for less than $10 a pop that DON'T bankrupt the emerging artist!)

DAMNIT, we CAN do it if we try!

This "Dub" project already looks like it is trying!
