TV station reports that Bush has been elected President
WBAY TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin is running an AP article reporting that Bush has won the election, weeks before the election is to take place. (Click image for enlargement."
At this hour, President Bush has won re-election as president by a 47 percent to 43 percent margin in the popular vote nationwide. Ralph Nader has 1 percent of the vote nationwide. That's with 51 percent of the precincts reporting."

Tell me again how I'm not suppose to be worried about Diabold's paperless voting machines?

Update: WBAY explains the so-called mistake:

The Associated Press tests election results about four times a week leading up to elections, especially one as crucial as a presidential election, to help TV stations and newspapers make sure they are receiving the numbers. The numbers are random with every test; if this error happened a day sooner or a day later, it could've been Senator Kerry or even Ralph Nader who was declared the winner.

Alright, alright. Let me get my tinfoil............."

"Does this mean the political bullshit train can now leave the station?"

I think the political bullshit train has been running for thousands of years, ever since the village bully told everyone God told him to tell others what to do...and established a "government".

"Consent of the governed" my ass!

Taxation without representation....seems to me this is going on now!

"Taxation without representation...."

The little thorn that does a lot to prevent even more monitoring of the internet than what goes on now and is attempted now. It is the main reason you can buy on the internet and not be charged sales tax. When you live in Iowa it can't be shown that some South Carolina politican is going to stand up for you or represent you. (Lord if that was true maybe we could have at bit more influance over "open hatch". On second thought, I doubt it. No one but those interested (read money supplying patrons) parties were allowed there to begin with.)

As with many laws now a days, legal loopholes are being sought to get around those that don't seem to agree with the intent of such laws. Fair use being a good example of one. When the legal loopholes don't work then a new technological might work. That is the case we have today with the anticopy within songs. While it isn't a straight violation of law, (after all you agreed to it didn't you?) the intent certainly is.

I look for the plum of uncollected tax revenues to come again and again as states get shortchanged come funding time, from Washington. Washington is ever hungry for new sources of funds or plums to pick. The next years will be even more critical on that as the need to pay down the deficit becomes more pressing. Thanks to Bush we have a record increase in said deficit.

Notice, though, that the numbers stated are only the popular vote. Nothing is mentioned about the electoral vote. I've run "unofficial" simulations of the election on the computer and come up with Kerry about 52% of the time. All he has to do is win California, Ohio and Florida and everything will be ok.

I Think the polls are way off this time. I believe most polls are based on home based phones. Think about it, how many 18-25 year olds use home based phones? Most young folks I know are using cellular phones as their primary phone. Just a thought.
