"Clinton - 5.6 Trillion Surplus Bush - 5.6 Trillion Deficit
The new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecast underscores the dramatic fiscal reversal under President Bush and leaves little doubt that this is the most fiscally irresponsible Administration in our history.
President Bush inherited the strongest fiscal outlook in memory, with a record budget surplus of $236 billion in 2000 and a projected surplus of $5.6 trillion over ten years. Those surpluses quickly disappeared.
Last year's deficit reached $375 billion, breaking the record of $290 billion set under President Bush's father in 1992.
CBO projects that the record will be broken again this year, with the deficit climbing to $477 billion.
The $5.6 trillion surplus CBO projected three years ago is now a $2.9 trillion deficit over that same decade, a $8.5 trillion reversal. The reversal climbs to nearly $10 trillion if you include the impact of the President's proposal to make his tax cuts permanent.
We have gone from saving the entire Social Security surplus to spending every penny.
The $5.6 trillion surplus that Bush inherited would have allowed us to essentially eliminate the public debt by 2008. Instead, CBO now projects that we will have $5.6 trillion in debt held by the public at the end of that year."

"fiscal outlook" was smoke & mirrors based on assumptions drawn from the late 90s boom. Once the economy turned south, those assumptions & outlook became null & void. projections don't mean shit when the facts change.

"I'm a pretty calm guy. I don't take it personal."- Bush during debate.
Bush: "“Keep those motherfuckers away from me,” he screamed at an aide backstage. “If you can’t, I’ll find someone who can.”" (said to aides after he stormed off the stage refusing to answer a question about his relationship with Ken Lay.
"In 1987, one year after he had given up drinking he ran into Al Hunt, a Wall Street Journal editor who was minding his own business sitting at a restaurant with his wife and 4-year-old daughter.
http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Articles5/Hamilton_Bush-7Sins.htm
Bush lit into him, saying, among other things, "You no-good fucking son of a bitch, I will never fucking forget what you wrote." ( (Hunt had predicted that the 1988 Republican ticket would be Jack Kemp and Richard Lugar, instead of George Bush Sr and Dan Quayle.) What's interesting is that the Wall St Journal editor later commented that Bush was well "lubricated."

Well, we now have Bush's reason why you should vote for him for Class President of 2004-2008.
His reason?
He knows how the world works and you better have a president that will chase down the tare-sts, before they hurt ya some more.
What the F***? I am not shittin' ya. That's what he said. So, Dubya is gonna strap on his chaps, kick the spurs into old paint, and gallop into the sunset at Fallujah, hollering "Yeeeeee-hah" and waving a lasso around his ten gallon covered head, while the his sheriff's star gleams in the sun's last rays of the day, and a booming voice of God spreading over the skies saying..."This is my Bush, of whom I am well proud."
Takes either a long line of blow or a couple bottles of Jack Daniels to hallucinate that much.

That whole scenario is dangerously close to the one in Doctor Strangelove in which Slim Picks ( Air Force Maj. T.J. Kong), cowboy hat in hand, straddles a nuclear bomb, and hollering as he falls, is headed to bomb Russia.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
This latter part ties in with debate because Kerry said he thought the main security threat was proliferation of nuclear weapons, and twice, Bush stuck in that it was the proliferation of weapons IN THE HANDS OF THE "TARE-ISTS" (his way of saying terrorists). So, it's ok if we spend billions on making bombs and stockpile them, but if anyone else does, they may be tare-ists, and that's not ok.

I've never seen Kerry contradict himself so much in such a short period of time e.g. "I'll work with other nations/They are the coerced and the bribed/Saddam was a threat/Iraq posed no iminent threat/Wrong war wrong place wrong time/Iraq needed to be disarmed."
Quite honestly, I'd prefer not having some aristocratic jerk (Kerry for those with blinders on in respect to their own candidate) who gets votes from the lower classes he only says he'll help so he can use them to get in office. Ah the stupid vote, our founding fathers were right.

Heres an idea, lets bring out the current trite called Reality TV. Complete with battering rams, pungie sticks, electroshock treatments and the first question thats not answered in the form of honesty, truth, and clarity for those who have a hard time understanding King Georgie 2 speech gets a lit up cannidate. Yup I can see it now. What we have to endure two more of these debates? Ugh. This is a sad day. What party would I choose? I think its going to be None of the Above. It really would have been nice to see some sign mentioning our FAIR-USE rights!!!
If anyone reads this post, and will be near one of the future debates, will you please make a sign that can be held up to the cameras during commentator interviews??!?!
A good sign might say, "Citizens for Fair-Use" or "Boycott-riaa.com" or something to get the word out more!!! Hold the sign so it appears just above the commentators shoulder and next to their head, it should be visable that way. Am I the only person thinking about these things?!?!?

You and I are both cynics, and we might agree that politics, by nature, is flawed . . . and that politicians are likewise flawed as well.
But, other than that, I don't automatically assume ANYthing. I don't even automatically assume that a third party candidate ISN'T any better. . . even if you do!
Come on now, Sherm.
Okay, not necessarily 'better'. But how about not as bad?
But if you don't want to tolerate my saying 'not as bad', then if YOU don't stay home on election day, sir, who (and why) are you voting for?
Perhaps you're going to vote for the politican (to some extent, all liars, by definition) whom you can most easily see he's lying?? (That's a concept you've previously alluded to, by the way.)
God, don't say Bush -- unless YOU don't think he's one of the worst threats to civil liberties.
P.S. What have you got against Badnarik (or even Nader) COMPARED to the fraternity brothers? How can you avoid acquiescing somewhat to a lesser-of-two evils approach? Or to the concept that, at the very least, a vote AGAINST the corrupt two-party system currently offering us lousy choices is something worthwhile considering -- something that can potentially make a statement to the powers-that-be?
Bottom line: Potshots can be taken at anyone you vote for, and there's no escaping a potshot if you stay home. So, I think you've come on a little too strong this time, Sherm, and there's no real way out of the corner you've painted yourself into by the comments you have made.
I don't see you and I avoiding knocking heads on this one, and I'll be interested to see your response.

I agree with Capt-n-Jack, in that 60 million people who use filesharing, and who have been under attack from Orrin Hatch and the rest, saw ZERO coverage about what would be done to stop that, and we see today MORE lawsuits filed.
We saw a chunk of the debate get turned over to talking about Darfur, but hell, are they running for the King of the World or President of Darfur position? We have people starving HERE and people losing work HERE, and 45 plus million without healthcare HERE, and a deficit exploding out of control HERE...
I honestly got angry over the lack of real, honest to goodness concern for our country, and for their lack of concern on issues that really affect you and me daily.
38 minutes spent on Iraq, I think around 10 minutes spent on North Korea....in fact, I assert most of the debate was on foreign issues....
And, TWO SKULL N BONES MEMBERS ARE OUR ONLY REAL CHOICE?
Would we put up with it if our only choice was two members of the KKK, or two members of the Nation of Islam, or two Skinheads?
For those of us who are more conspiratorial minded, this is very odd.

Actually, Fox and Friends had a guest named Guiliano in the studio who really criticized Bush's performance. He thought Bush slouched at the podium, looked uncomfortable and testy. This was followed by Senator Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) who thought Bush was great and Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn) who thought Kerry was great.

Just proof of the strangle hold the two major parties have on the media.
As another IMPORTANT NOTE! (please read)
Kerry himself said the terrorists were pouring over the borders in Iraq. So if they are all flocking there why not defeat them there? If there are terrorists flocking there, is it logical to say Iraq has nothing to do with the War on Terror (at this moment). I much rather have them flock to Iraq and fight them there than have them come to the US and kill our own people. I do feel sorry for the Iraqi people and wish they could have their freedom and peace, but the current situation allows for a good shot at fighting these terrorists. Of placing them in with the best troops in the world, US troops, who can deal with them best of all. Opportunities everywhere, and instead of being pessimistic and considering it "the wrong war wrong place yadda yadda" how about we take this chance and make something positive of it?

Little bits like when Bush was complaiing about the rules of the debate, and then Kerry told him that if the two of them agreed(Kerry and Bush) they could change the rules right there.

And I'm sorry to tell anyone who was looking forward to the Town Hall debate this,but...

A lot.
You have to write in your question first, and then they pre-select questions, and if you ask a different question, they remove you right away.
